We report the case of an 18-month-old boy who developed a phototoxic skin reaction to terbinafine on his scalp, ears, and face in the form of disseminated erythematous plaques, which resembled subacute lupus erythematosus (SCLE) in their clinical presentation. Skin changes appeared a short time after the boy was exposed to sunlight during the period of time when he was treated with oral terbinafine due to Microsporum canis fungal scalp infection. Tinea capitis is a common dermatophyte infection primarily affecting prepubertal children (1).

Chronic exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light can cause cutaneous damage, resulting in specific pathological changes such as actinic keratosis and dermatitis. Despite actinic dermatosis being well documented in both humans and animals, it has rarely been reported in non-human primates (NHPs). Here, we describe a case of chronic UV light exposure in cynomolgus macaque (Macaca fascicularis).

- - Aplasia cutis congenita (ACC) is a rare birth defect that results in a lack of all skin layers, typically presenting as a small ulcer or scar on the scalp, but extensive cases on the trunk are very rare.
- - The study reports a unique case of a male newborn with a large ACC on the trunk, treated successfully with a 1% sulfadiazine silver dressing.
- - The results indicate that conservative treatments can be effective for managing non-scalp cases of ACC, providing a practical option for patients and caregivers.
