A magnetic-biopolymer composite of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), designated as FeO@CMC, was synthesized featuring remarkable stability and an active surface with a green biosynthetic method. This composite was engineered to serve as a substrate for stabilizing silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with enhanced functional properties. The catalytic efficacy of the nanocatalyst, incorporating Ag NPs at concentrations of 3%, 7%, and 10%, was evaluated for the reduction of the toxic compound 4-nitrophenol to the beneficial 4-aminophenol.

Heterojunction materials for photocatalytic overall water splitting (POWS) become popular in recent times. However, even in the superior S-scheme heterojunction, the two semiconductor materials still do not have an efficient activity to separate and migrate photogenerated carriers. To further improve the charge separation and enhance the activity of POWS, a novel S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst, Cu/ZnInS-V/TiO-V, was synthesized using solvothermal and calcination methods.

The viability of using fibers as reinforcement material for developing lightweight sustainable non-structural construction materials in compliance with the valorization of local by-products has been investigated in this work. This study aims to investigate the effect of the chemical treatment of fibers on the mechanical and hygric properties of bio-sourced clay-sand- fiber composite. This lightweight specimen has been produced from a mixture of 60% natural clay and 40% sand by mass, as a matrix, and reinforced with different amounts of Juncus fibers.

A study was conducted to determine the effects of protease supplementation of field pea (in comparison with soybean meal; SBM) for broilers on apparent metabolizable energy (AMEn) and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids (AA). One hundred and forty broiler chicks were divided into 35 groups of 4 birds/group and fed 5 diets in a completely randomized design (7 groups/diet) from 14 to 21 d of age. The diets were cornstarch-based containing SBM or field pea as the sole protein source without or with protease (ProSparity 250; CBS Bio Platforms, Calgary, AB, Canada) in 2 × 2 factorial arrangement, and N-free diet.
