The objective of this study was the determination of major and trace elements in the bee pollen samples from the whole territory of Republic of Kosovo. Pollen, as a natural plant product, is exposed to different contaminations absorbed by plants from the soil through the root system or with water intake, as well as to pollutants of different origins, including anthropogenic ones, deposited directly on pollen. In total 67 pollen samples were collected in 2019. The samples were analyzed for 27 macro and microelements by using ICP-AES and ICP-MS. The mean content of major elements in bee pollen was 4065, 3455, 1375 and 549 mg/kg for K, P, Ca and Mg, respectively. The range of the contents for some potentially toxic elements was 11.9-139.1, 1.9-16, 0.11-6.25, 0.01-0.329 and 0.001-0.38 mg/kg for Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd and As, respectively. Three groups of elements of mixed origin were identified through factor analysis: the first and the third Factors, are mostly of geogenic origin (Ag, Li, Al, Fe, Ca, Sr, K, Mg and P and Co, Ni, Cr, Cu and Mn) and the second Factor association is related to anthropogenic processes (Sb, As, Pb, Tl, Sn and Cd).

Tetrapedia diversipes is a Neotropical solitary bee commonly found in trap-nests, known for its morphological adaptations for floral oil collection and prepupal diapause during the cold and dry season. Here, we present the genome assembly of T. diversipes (332 Mbp), comprising 2,575 scaffolds, with 15,028 predicted protein-coding genes.

The small hive beetle (SHB), Aethina tumida Murray is an invasive pest of the honey bee. This beetle feeds not only on bee resources within the hive such as honey and pollen, but also on bee brood and dead bees. The impact of this beetle's intimate parasitic association with the honey bee on virus transmission is poorly understood.

The Afrotropical region is home to many endemic bee groups, yet almost none have been studied from an integrated, holistic perspective. Among them, the halictid subfamily Nomiinae contains exceptional African diversity with variable distributions and life histories. Here, we combine phylogenomics, molecular dating, and distributional modelling to explore the evolutionary ecology of the genus Trinomia.

Developing an efficient and cost-effective wound-healing substance to treat wounds and regenerate skin is desperately needed in the current world. The present study evaluatedwound healing andantioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory activities of propolis mediated silver nanoparticles. Extract of Bee propolis from northeast Punjab, Pakistan, has been prepared via maceration and subjected to chemical identification.

The selective extraction of lithium from aqueous systems necessitates efficient sorbent materials. Spinel-type lithium manganese oxide ion sieves (LMOs) have been bee recognized for their high performance in this application. However, the elevated market cost of the spinel form (λ-MnO) raises economic concerns, posing challenges to the feasibility of the extraction process.
