Porous intermetallic NiXAl (X = Ti or Zr) nanoparticles prepared from oxide precursors. | LitMetric

AI Article Synopsis

  • Researchers created porous intermetallic nanoparticles of NiXAl, where X can be titanium (Ti) or zirconium (Zr), with crystallite sizes ranging from 24 to 34 nanometers.
  • These nanoparticles exhibited high surface areas according to the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method, with values between 10 and 71 m²/g.
  • The synthesis involved a chemical process using oxide precursors, with CaH serving as both a template for the porous structure and an aid in the reduction process.

Article Abstract

Porous intermetallic NiXAl (X = Ti or Zr) nanoparticles with small crystallite sizes (24-34 nm) and high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface areas (10-71 m g) were prepared from oxide precursors by a chemical route. CaH acted as a template to form the porous morphologies and assisted the reduction.
