: The Genetics and Genomics in Nursing Practice Survey (GGNPS) was developed to evaluate the use of genetics in clinical practice. This study aimed to translate the GGNPS into Turkish and perform the test/retest reliability. : A descriptive, cross-sectional research design was used to collect data. Data were collected two times with ~3-7 weeks apart by using RedCap software. : At Time 1, a total of 385 nurses completed the survey; at Time 2, 88 nurses completed the retest survey. Findings show that one item has a slight agreement, 9 items fair agreements and 18 items moderate agreements, and 19 items substantial agreements between Times 1 and 2. : The Turkish version of GGNPS appears to be a reliable instrument.

Heart rate variability (HRV) is a key indicator of cardiac autonomic function, making reliable assessment crucial. To examine the test-retest stability of resting HRV in healthy individuals, fifty participants attended two lab sessions within a week, at the same time of day. After a 5-minute acclimatization period, electrocardiogram and respiration were recorded at rest.

Reliable and sensitive testing of physical function is crucial for assessing the effects of treatment or exercise intervention in various patient populations. The present study investigated the test-retest reliability and sensitivity (smallest detectable difference: SDD) of selected physical performance tests commonly used in clinical rehabilitation, including tests of habitual and maximal walking speed, walking endurance capacity, handgrip strength (HGS), and lower limb muscle power (Sit-to-Stand (STS), stair climb) in adults with severe obesity meeting the criteria for bariatric surgery. Thirty-two adults (BMI 43.

Alexithymia, a cognitive and emotional deficit characterized by difficulty in expressing emotions and identifying feelings, poses significant challenges in healthcare settings. Developing a reliable and valid tool to measure alexithymia in post-prostatectomy patients would not only aid healthcare professionals in identifying at-risk individuals but also facilitate early intervention and targeted support. This study aimed to translate the Brief Form of the Normative Male Alexithymia Scale (NMAS-BF) into Simplified Chinese, evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version, and explore its influencing factors.

Human cancer cell lines are the mainstay of cancer research. Recent reports showed that highly mutated adult carcinoma cell lines (mainly HeLa and MCF-7) present striking diversity across laboratories and that long-term continuous culturing results in genomic/transcriptomic heterogeneity with strong phenotypical implications. Here, we hypothesize that oligomutated pediatric sarcoma cell lines mainly driven by a fusion transcription factor, such as Ewing sarcoma (EwS), are genetically and phenotypically more stable than the previously investigated adult carcinoma cell lines.

Endocrine and Metabolic Unit, Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Research Centre, Institute for Medical Research, National Institutes of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia.

Background: Obesity presents a growing challenge to public health, and its intricate association with genetics continues to be a compelling field of study. In countries such as Malaysia, where diverse genetic backgrounds converge, exploring the molecular genetics of obesity is even more imperative.

Objective: This scoping review aimed to explore the literature on molecular genetics of obesity in Malaysia.
