Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can face difficulties with inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which can impact many areas of their lives, including their educational attainment and social and emotional wellbeing. Involvement in nature-based activities can reduce these difficulties and improve wellbeing, but there are limited resources for supporting children with this diagnosis to access these approaches and no nature-based interventions designed with and for this group. This protocol describes a co-production study in which children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder aged 5-11 years old, their parents/guardians, and professionals will attend a series of workshops to share their knowledge to co-produce a new nature-based intervention for this population of children. We aim to understand how the children's' experiences of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder may affect their interactions with nature, identify how activity in and with nature may help with symptom reduction and general wellbeing, and co-produce an intervention for families which applies our learning. The result of this study will be the designed intervention and insights into how children and young people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder interact with nature. The prototype intervention will then undergo feasibility testing in a future study. Trail registration: NIHR203043; ISRCTN11763460.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively evaluate the impact of physical exercise interventions on anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation in children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases, including Embase, Web of Science (WOS), PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Wanfang Data, VIP Information, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), from their inception up to July 2024. The search aimed to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the impact of physical exercise on anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation in children diagnosed with ADHD.

Recent developments driven by people with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and/or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have highlighted that far from being disorders, ADHD and/or ASD can be seen as natural variations in neurodevelopment. The neurodiversity movement acknowledges that people with ADHD and/or ASD have specific strengths, that can help them outperform neurotypical individuals in certain situations and that these conditions should therefore not be seen as disorders. This view is supported by evolutionary science, which can be used as a framework to understand ADHD and/or ASD as natural variations that were not eliminated by natural selection due to their benefit to the individual and group in certain situations.

Introduction: Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) is a syndrome characterized by cognitive hypo-arousal that often appears as daytime sleepiness or drowsiness, mental fogginess, being easily confused, having difficulty with holding and manipulating information in working memory, and being forgetful. Although it frequently co-travels with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other conditions and confers significantly greater impairment, there are few studies examining SCT among adults with ADHD. Understanding what features SCT confers in association with ADHD, distinct from other conditions associating with ADHD, is critically important to confirm if SCT is a distinct syndrome that requires special assessment methods and special, distinct treatment efforts to reduce its impact.
