To study the gas-liquid two-phase spiral annular flow pattern and its conversion law in a horizontal tube with twist tape by spiral on-way, a numerical simulation is carried out using the RNG k-ε model, and the DPM model is adopted as the particle motion model. The research results show that three main flow patterns are obtained, which are spiraling churn flow, spiraling annular flow, and spiraling annular twine flow. The ratio of the liquid-phase to gas-phase velocity / is the main factor that affects the existence of the gas phase. When / > 1/2, the flow pattern is a spiral cluster flow; when 1/5 < / < 1/2, the flow pattern is a spiral annular flow; and when / < 1/5, the flow pattern is a spiral annular flow. Compared with the flow pattern of the local spiral flow pattern of the short twisted band, it was found that the occurrence conditions of annular flow were postponed and a new flow pattern appeared. The research results of this paper have guiding significance for the pipeline risk management of natural gas hydrates and the engineering application of the full rotation of guide strips.

Background: HIV induced endothelial dysfunction (ED) contributes to cardiovascular disease (CVD) in women with HIV (WWH). Although psychosocial stress has been implicated in the development of CVD in HIV, its impact on ED in WWH remains unknown.
Objectives: The authors hypothesized that posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and HIV interact to contribute to ED in WWH.

The results of an investigation of an impact of the structure of recently synthesized bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide mono- and dicationic ionic liquids on their properties and behavior as lubricants for slippery liquid infused superhydrophobic coatings are presented for a wide temperature range. In this study, a new approach based on monitoring the surface tension of a liquid sessile droplet on top of a coating was exploited for the analysis of the evolution of the coating properties in prolonged contact with the liquid. It was found that the continuous contact with water flow results in slippery property degradation according to two different scenarios.

This study focuses on fabricating photonic crystals (PCs) by surfactant-based particle capture at the gas-liquid interface of evaporating sessile droplets. The captured particles form interfacial films, resulting in ordered monolayer depositions manifesting iridescent structural colors. The particle dynamics behind the ordered arrangement is delineated.

When developing general-purpose robot software components, we often lack complete knowledge of the specific contexts in which they will be executed. This limits our ability to make predictions, including our ability to detect program bugs statically. Since running a robot is an expensive task, finding errors at runtime can prolong the debugging loop or even cause safety hazards.

Background: Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) is one of the most feared complications in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Animal models are crucial to studying the disease mechanisms and potential treatments. DCI in rodents was thought to not exist; herein we examine literature and our experience with DCI in rodents.
