Based on the deep fusion of intelligent meridian sensing technology and Huoluo Xiaoling Pill (HXP) in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA), firstly, the effective components and targets of , , , and were obtained by using TCMSP, SwissADME, and Swisstarget databases. Similarly, relevant targets of KOA were collected through GeneCards, OMIM, TTD, PharmGKB, and DrugBank databases. Next, the potential targets of ZXP in the treatment of KOA were obtained by intersection of drug and disease targets. Finally, Cytoscape 3.7.1 software was used to construct a "disease-drug-component-target" network, and Gene Ontology (GO) function and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Gnomes (KEGG) signaling pathway enrichment analysis were performed on the core targets through Metascape website. A total of 99 active components and 203 corresponding potential therapeutic targets were obtained from the components of HXP. And KOA has 2543 potential therapeutic targets, of which 120 cross targets correspond to 120 active compounds in HXP. Then, topology analysis displayed that the six targets form the core PPI network. In addition, GO and KEGG enrichment analyses showed that these core targets were mainly enriched in inflammatory response, apoptosis, oxidation reaction, and other related pathways.

Wearable devices designed for the somatosensory system aim to provide event-cue feedback electronics and therapeutic stimulation to the peripheral nervous system. This prompts a neurological response that is relayed back to the central nervous system. Unlike virtual reality tools, these devices precisely target peripheral mechanoreceptors by administering specific stimuli.

The exploration of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway in living cells is of great significance for achieving tumor diagnosis and treatment. However, visualization of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway induced by specific proteins has rarely been reported. In this paper, we designed and synthesized a fluorescent probe Cy-JQ1 based on the bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) inhibition.

Electronic address:

RNA imaging technology is essential for understanding the complex RNA regulatory mechanisms and serves as a powerful tool for disease diagnosis. However, conventional RNA imaging methods often require multiple fluorescent tags for the specific labeling of individual targets, complicating both the imaging process and subsequent analysis. Herein, we develop an RNA sensor that integrates a blocked CRISPR RNA (crRNA)-based conformational switch with a controllable CRISPR activation (CRISPRa) system and apply for RNA imaging.

Loneliness is associated with different structural brain changes in schizophrenia spectrum disorders and major depression.

Schizophr Res

January 2025

Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Central Institute of Mental Health, Medical Faculty Mannheim, Heidelberg University, Mannheim, Germany; German Center for Mental Health (DZPG), partner site Mannheim-Heidelberg-Ulm, Germany. Electronic address:

Background: Loneliness, distress from having fewer social contacts than desired, has been recognized as a significant public health crisis. Although a substantial body of research has established connections between loneliness and various forms of psychopathology, our understanding of the neural underpinnings of loneliness in schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) remains limited.

Methods: In this study, structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) data were collected from 57 SSD and 45 MDD patients as well as 41 healthy controls (HC).

Introduction: Hospital-based violence intervention programs primarily target adults, raising questions about the effectiveness in preventing pediatric firearm deaths. We hypothesized that pediatric and adult firearm injury deaths are different enough to require unique intervention strategies.

Methods: Retrospective chart review was conducted of medical examiner and trauma center records of firearm-related deaths in the largest metropolitan county in Texas.
