Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has several benefits in dentistry, including anti-inflammatory effects and increased proliferation. This study aimed to investigate the effect of 445 nm blue laser and 660 nm low-power laser on the quantity and quality of human gingival fibroblasts in vitro. In this in vitro experimental study, 445 nm and 660 nm lasers were irradiated on the samples six times. After examining the cells on the 7 and 14 days, the data were analyzed using ANOVA PASS11 and the post hoc Tukey test. The results showed the positive effect of the 660 nm laser on fibroblast proliferation. The viability on the 7 day was the highest in the control group, lowest in the 445 nm laser group and highest in the 660 nm laser group on the 14 day. In the morphological examination, the cells were spherical with narrow appendages in the control group, spindle-shaped with lamellipodia appendages in the 660 nm laser group and spherical with no cytoplasmic appendages in the 445 nm laser group. Evidence of necrosis and granulation phenomenon was observed in the 445 nm laser group. The use of the 660 nm low-power laser, compared with the 445 nm laser, has a positive effect on the quantity and quality of gingival fibroblasts.

Introduction: Surgical site infection (SSI) after lower extremity (LE) bypass surgery is associated with longer length of stay, higher hospital cost, increased morbidity, and even graft loss. Silver impregnated dressings have been used by other surgical subspecialties to decrease SSI with reported success. The National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) published a national expected rate of 7.

Contact lenses have become integral tools in the realm of ocular therapeutics, extending beyond their primary function of refractive correction to encompass a diverse array of therapeutic applications. This review explores the evolving role of contact lenses in managing various ocular conditions, highlighting their efficacy in enhancing patient outcomes. Initially developed to correct refractive errors, contact lenses now serve as effective vehicles for delivering medications directly to the ocular surface, offering targeted treatment for conditions such as dry eye syndrome and corneal ulcers.

Objective: This study aims to quantitatively compare the effects of standard needle irrigation (SNI), passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), EDDY, photon-initiated photoacoustic streaming (PIPS), and shock wave-enhanced emission photoacoustic streaming (SWEEPS) on the apical extrusion of irrigation solutions in teeth with severe canal curvature.
Materials And Methods: Seventy-five teeth with a single root and canal, and curvature angles ranging from 20° to 40°, were selected for this study. Root canal curvatures were measured from buccolingual and mesiodistal radiographs using ImageJ software (version 1.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess the vertical misfit at the implant-abutment interface in external and internal connections across various implant brands, comparing original milled titanium abutments with laser-sintered cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) abutments.
Materials And Methods: A total of 160 implants from four different brands were utilized, with 80 featuring external connections (EC) and 80 internal connections (IC). Original milled titanium abutments (n = 160) and Co-Cr laser-sintered abutments (n = 160) were randomly attached to each connection type, following the manufacturer's recommended torque.
Background And Objective: Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a vascular disease that may affect the retina. This study aimed to evaluate differences in average velocity (AV, mm/s), blood flow (BF, μL/min) and vessel diameter (VD, μm) from the temporal retinal arcades in SCD compared to healthy eyes using Doppler optical coherence tomography (DOCT).
Patients And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between 2021 and 2023.
