The second near-infrared (NIR-II)-induced photothermal therapy (PTT) has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years due to its non-invasiveness and because it uses less energy. However, the penetration of photothermal agents into solid tumors is seriously impeded by the dense-tumor extracellular matrix (ECM) containing cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA), thereby compromising the ultimate therapeutic effects. Herein, acid-labile metal-organic frameworks were employed as nanocarriers to efficiently mineralize hyaluronidase (HAase) and encapsulate AgS nanodots by a one-pot approach under mild conditions. The obtained nanocomposites (AHZ NPs) maintained enzyme activity and changed in size to prolong blood circulation and complete delivery of the cargo to the tumor. Moreover, the released HAase could specifically break out the HA to loosen ECM and enable the AgS nanodots to breeze through the tumor matrix space and gain access to the deep tumor. Under near-infrared laser irradiation, the AHZ NPs displayed remarkable fluorescence, outstanding photoacoustic signals, and excellent photothermal properties in the whole tumor. This work offers a promising two-pronged strategy via a decrease in nanoparticle size and the degradation of dense ECM for NIR-II multimodal imaging-guided PTT of deep tumors.

Stubborn biofilm infections pose serious threats to public health. Clinical practices highly rely on mechanical debridement and antibiotics, which often fail and lead to persistent and recurrent infections. The main culprits are 1) persistent bacteria reviving, colonizing, and rejuvenating biofilms, and 2) secondary pathogen exposure, particularly in individuals with chronic diseases.

CRLF2 rearrangements occur in >50% of Ph-like and Down syndrome (DS)-associated B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and induce constitutive kinase signaling targetable by the JAK1/2 inhibitor ruxolitinib under current clinical investigation. While chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CART) immunotherapies have achieved remarkable remission rates in children with relapsed/refractory B-ALL, ~50% of CD19CART-treated patients relapse again, many with CD19 antigen loss. We previously reported preclinical activity of thymic stromal lymphopoietin receptor-targeted cellular immunotherapy (TSLPRCART) against CRLF2-overexpressing ALL as an alternative approach.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have become the cutting-edge technology in the display market. However, compared with green and red stacks, blue stacks still remain an obstacle for OLED technology. There seems to be an "impossible trinity" between efficiency, stability, and color-purity for blue OLEDs.

Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) is a physiological disorder caused by reduced levels of oestrogen in menopausal women. Gradually, its symptoms worsen with age and prolonged menopausal status, which gravely impacts the quality of life as well as the physical and mental health of the patients. In this regard, optical coherence tomography (OCT) system effectively reduces the patient's burden in clinical diagnosis with its noncontact, noninvasive tomographic imaging process.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) is an efficient way to combat bacterial infections and circumvent multidrug resistance. However, balancing efficacious bacterial killing and minimizing damage to the surrounding normal tissues remain a great challenge. Herein, a highly cooperative Prussian blue/kaolinite (PB/Kaol) hybrid nanosystem is constructed for antibacterial therapy to accelerate the healing of infected wounds.
