Background: The aim of this study was to identified cyst nematodes in the cabbage production areas in Niğde Province by molecular methods to underpin decision making for field control. The sequences of ribosomal DNA region (rDNA-ITS) and cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (mtDNA-COI) were used for the first time for identification Heterodera cruciferae (cabbage cyst nematode) in Turkey.
Methods And Results: Heterodera cruciferae populations extracted from cabbage growing areas of Niğde Province and investigated using sequences of rDNA-ITS and mtDNA-COI. Similarities and differences between 13 geographic populations of H. cruciferae were detected in surveys during 2020-2021. DNA from single cysts was successfully amplified, and genetic variability was revealed within nematode populations. Based on these results, H. cruciferae is reported for the first time from Niğde Province, Turkey. This study showed clear discrimination among the sampled populations of H. cruciferae.
Conclusion: This finding is important for control and managing cabbage cyst nematode in cabbage fields in Turkey as more than one Heterodera spp. can occur. Future studies should investigate the population dynamics and control of H. cruciferae in fields in the sampled districts.

Azaleas (Rhododendron simsii) are popular ornamental woody plants known for their bright colors; however, very limited studies have been reported on the process of flower petal pigmentation. In this study, we found significant differences in the anthocyanin contents of petals from different colored azaleas, and the results of quantitative real-time PCR indicated that the R2R3 MYB genes, RsMYB12, RsMYB90, and RsMYB123, showed significant expression changes during the petal coloration in azalea petals; therefore, we hypothesized that RsMYB12, RsMYB90, and RsMYB123 might involve in the coloring process of azalea petals by regulating anthocyanin synthesis. This work provides insights into the underlying mechanisms of petal pigmentation in R.

The understanding of pembrolizumab-induced Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) /toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) primarily derives from case reports, leaving specific clinical features largely unknown. This study aims to investigate the clinical characteristics associated with pembrolizumab-induced SJS/TEN and to encourage the judicious use of pembrolizumab. Retrieve reports on pembrolizumab induced SJS/TEN before September 30, 2024 for retrospective analysis.

The rising incidence of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) has increased the demand for precise treatments like robot-assisted percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP), especially for conditions like Kümmell's disease that require high surgical accuracy. However, the traditional tracer fixation method has certain limitations. This study aimed to compare the safety and clinical efficacy of a modified tracer fixation technique with the traditional fixation method in robot-assisted percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for Kümmell's disease.

The combined use of tocilizumab (TCZ) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer treatment is gaining attention, but preclinical studies are lacking. Our study aims to investigate the synergistic anti-tumor effect of TCZ combined with ICIs and its role in treating immune-related adverse events (irAEs). The clinical significance of high interleukin-6 (IL-6) expression in tumor patients was analyzed from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.
