Management of chest wall defects after oncologic resection can be challenging, depending on the size and location of the defect, as well as the method of reconstruction. This report presents the first clinical case where patient-specific rib prostheses were created using a computer program and statistical shape model of human ribs. A 64-year-old male was diagnosed with non-small-cell lung cancer originating in the right upper lobe and invading the lateral aspect of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th ribs. Prior to surgical resection, a statistical shape model of human ribs was created and used to synthesise rib models in the software MATLAB (MathWorks, Natick, MA, USA). The patient's age, weight, height, and sex, as well as the number and side of the ribs of interest, were the inputs to the program. Based on these data, the program generated digital models of the right 3rd, 4th, and 5th ribs. These models were 3D printed, and a silicone mould was created from them. The patient subsequently underwent right upper lobectomy with resection of the involved chest wall. During the operation, the silicone mould was used to produce rigid prostheses consisting of methyl methacrylate and two layers of polypropylene mesh in a "sandwich" fashion. The prosthetic patch was then implanted to cover the chest wall defect. Thirty days after the surgery, the patient has returned to his pre-disease performance and physical activities. The statistical shape model and 3D printing is an optimised 3D modelling method that can provide clinicians with a time-efficient technique to create personalised rib prostheses, without any expertise or prior software knowledge.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to significant shifts in societal norms and individual behaviors, including changes in physical activity levels. This study examines the relationship between socioeconomic and sociodemographic factors and changes in physical activity levels during the pandemic compared to pre-pandemic levels among adult Arkansans. Survey data were collected from 1,205 adult Arkansans in July and August 2020, capturing socioeconomic and sociodemographic characteristics and information on physical activity changes since the onset of the pandemic.

Clinicians on a stroke rehabilitation ward are expected to track and nationally report on rehabilitation time to contribute to the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP), a process that was manual, paper-based, time-consuming and redundant, which in turn impacted on a reduction in clinical time to provide stroke rehabilitation. We aimed to release 20% of clinical time by reducing inefficiencies within their time management and reporting process, ensuring that clinicians had more time available for direct patient care.

Purpose: This study was designed to investigate risk factors for the development of cytomegalovirus (CMV) corneal endotheliitis following corneal transplantation.
Methods: We retrospectively analysed 1225 corneal transplants for bullous keratopathy between 2011 and 2021. 31 cases who were administered the treatment of CMV corneal endotheliitis preoperatively were excluded, and 1194 cases were analysed for risk factors for the development of CMV corneal endotheliitis following corneal transplantation.

: The objective of the current research is to assess the benefits that come with antegrade ureteral stenting coupled with imaging techniques in children and also provide a new classification based on the ureter's morphological elements. : Between 2011 and 2024, 107 antegrade stent placement procedures performed in 71 pediatric patients aged 0-12 years who could not undergo retrograde double-J stent placement were retrospectively analyzed. According to the morphologic structure of the ureter, four categories were classified as normal, straight/slightly angled, S-shaped, and spiral-shaped.
