The goal of the research was to study the possibility of using the planned language Esperanto for text compression, and to compare the results of the text compression in Esperanto with the compression in natural languages, represented by Polish and English. The authors performed text compression in the created program in Python using four compression algorithms: zlib, lzma, bz2, and zl4 in four versions of the text: in Polish, English, Esperanto, and Esperanto in x notation (without characters outside ASCII encoding). After creating the compression program, and compressing the proper texts, authors conducted an analysis on the comparison of compression time and the volume of the text before and after compression. The results of the study confirmed the hypothesis, based on which the planned language, Esperanto, gives better text compression results than the natural languages represented by Polish and English. The confirmation by scientific methods that Esperanto is more optimal for text compression is the scientific added value of the paper.

Due to various factors, the concrete may contain mud, a condition that can lead to a decrease in strength and changes in the ultrasonic acoustic parameters of the concrete. In order to study the effect of concrete mud content ([Formula: see text]) on ultrasonic acoustic parameters and compressive strength, this paper firstly derived the relationship equations between concrete mud content and acoustic parameters and compressive strength. Subsequently, the acoustic parameters and compressive strength were tested for concrete specimens with different mud contents cast on site.

In natural environments, most rocks possess internal fissures and are often exposed to diverse external loads arising from engineering activities and ground stress, among other factors. This study aims to explore the influence of different loading rates on the mechanical properties and acoustic emission (AE) characteristics of fissured rocks and to develop an intrinsic damage model. To achieve this, prefabricated fissured rock specimens that mimic natural rocks were prepared.

Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and density functional theory (DFT), an experimental and theoretical study of changes in the electronic structure (dispersion dependencies) and corresponding modification of the energy band gap at the Dirac point (DP) for topological insulator (TI) [Formula: see text] have been carried out with gradual replacement of magnetic Mn atoms by non-magnetic Ge atoms when concentration of the latter was varied from 10% to 75%. It was shown that when Ge concentration increases, the bulk band gap decreases and reaches zero plateau in the concentration range of 45-60% while trivial surface states (TrSS) are present and exhibit an energy splitting of 100 and 70 meV in different types of measurements. It was also shown that TSS disappear from the measured band dispersions at a Ge concentration of about 40%.

In addition to the traditional uses of plywood, such as furniture and construction, it is also widely used in areas that benefit from its special combination of strength and lightness, particularly as a construction material for the production of finishing elements of campervans and yachts. In light of the current need to reduce emissions of climate-damaging gases such as CO, the use of lightweight construction materials is very important. In recent years, hybrid structures made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastics (CFRPs) and metals have attracted much attention in many industries.

Purpose: An atypical presentation of cervical spondylopathy (CS), trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is attributable to the extension of trigeminal nuclei into the spinal cord and is frequently overlooked, leading to limited discussion with patients regarding potential anterior cervical surgery. Our systematic review assesses the effectiveness of cervical surgery for concurrent trigeminal neuralgia in cases of cervical spondylopathy.

Methods: A systematic review exploring cases of trigeminal neuralgia related to cervical spondylopathy was conducted searching on PubMed, Scopus and Embase databases for article in English.
