Different hierarchical porous InO nanostructures were synthesized by regulating the hydrothermal time and combining it with a self-pore-forming method. The gas-sensing test results show that the response of the sensor based on InO obtained after hydrothermal reaction for 48 h is about 10.4 to 500 ppm methane. Meanwhile, it possesses good reproducibility, stability, selectivity and moisture resistance as well as a good exponential linear relationship between the response to methane and its concentration. In particular, the sensor based on InO can detect a wide range of methane (10~2000 ppm) at near-room temperature (30 °C). The excellent methane sensitivity of the InO sensor is mainly due to its unique nanostructure, which has the advantages of both porous and hierarchical structures. Combined with the DFT calculation, it is considered that the sensitive mechanism is mainly controlled by the surface adsorbed oxygen model. This work provides a feasible strategy for enhancing the gas sensitivity of InO toward methane at low temperatures.

Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) has been extensively studied as a precursor for nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) materials due to its high surface area, tunable porosity, and adjustable nitrogen content. However, the intrinsic microporous structure of the ZIF-8 limits mass transport and accessibility of reactants to active sites, reducing its effectiveness in electrochemical applications. In this study, a soft templating approach using a triblock copolymer was used to prepare mesoporous ZIF-8-derived NC (Meso-ZIF-NC) samples.

In the last thirty years, tissue engineering (TI) has emerged as an alternative method to regenerate tissues and organs and restore their function by implanting specific lineage cells, growth factors, or biomolecules functionalizing a matrix scaffold. Recently, several pathologies have led to bone loss or damage, such as malformations, bone resorption associated with benign or malignant tumors, periodontal disease, traumas, and others in which a discontinuity in tissue integrity is observed. Bone tissue is characterized by different stiffness, mechanical traction, and compression resistance as a function of the different compartments, which can influence susceptibility to injury or destruction.

Aqueous halogen batteries are gaining recognition for large-scale energy storage due to their high energy density, safety, environmental sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. However, the limited electrochemical stability window of aqueous electrolytes and the absence of desirable carbonaceous hosts that facilitate halogen redox reactions have hindered the advancement of halogen batteries. Here, a low-cost, high-concentration 26 m Li-B-C-O aqueous solution incorporating lithium bromide (LiBr), lithium chloride (LiCl), and lithium acetate (LiOAc) was developed for aqueous batteries, which demonstrated an expanded electrochemical stability window of .

Promoting the rate of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is critical for boosting the overall energy efficiency of the flexible zinc-air batteries (FZABs). Inspired by nature, we designed "branch-leaf" like hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers with ultralow loadings of Ir nanoparticles (NPs) derived from covalent-organic framework/metal-organic framework (COF/MOF) core-shell hybrids. The as-obtained Ir/FeZn-hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers (HPCNFs) showcase enhanced ORR performance, and the ultralow Ir loading reduces the cost while maintaining catalytic capacity.

It is crucial yet challenging to sensitively quantify low-abundance biomarkers in blood for early screening and diagnosis of various diseases. Herein, an analytical model of intra-mesopore immunoassay (IMIA) was proposed, which was competent to examine various biomarkers at the femtomolar level. The success is rooted in the design of an innovative superparamagnetic core-shell structure with FeO nanoparticles (NPs) at the core and hierarchically porous zeolitic imidazolate frameworks as a shell (FeO@HPZIF-8), achieved through a soft-template directed self-assembly coupled with confinement growth mechanism.
