Background: Endotracheal tube (ETT) malposition is common in neonatal intubation. Recommendations for ETT insertion depths predominantly address orotracheal intubation. The aim of this study was to develop gestational age-, weight-, and length-based curve charts and tables for nasotracheal ETT insertion depth recommendations in neonates.
Method: In this retrospective single-center study, the individual optimal ETT insertion depths in neonates were determined by evaluating postintubation radiographic images. Gestational age-, weight-, and length-based best-fit curves and tables were generated using regression analysis to calculate related ETT insertion depths. The insertion depths predicted by the models were compared with previously published recommendations.
Results: We analyzed intubations of 178 neonates (gestational age range at intubation: 23.7-43.0 weeks). Applying sigmoidal logistic regression models, curves, and tables revealed values between 0.766 and 0.837. The insertion depths predicted by the models revealed certain deviations when compared with four previously published recommendations for nasotracheal ETT depth estimation in neonates.
Conclusion: The charts and tables developed in this study enable a fast and accurate determination of recommended nasotracheal ETT insertion depths in neonates.

Background: Headache disorders are prevalent often leading to disability. The rectus capitus posterior major muscle (RCPMaj) may contribute to headache symptoms via nociceptive convergence and myodural bridging.
Objectives: To establish guidelines for needle length and needle angle to mitigate risks during dry needling RCPMaj.

Background: This study aimed to assess the feasibility of real-time ultrasound-guided thoracic epidural placement.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted in 20 patients undergoing elective abdominal and thoracic surgery. The procedure, performed with patients in a lateral position, involved three sequential steps: (1) identification of the interlaminar gap, (2) advancement of the Touhy needle, and (3) identification of the epidural space.

Introduction. Middle-ear ventilation tubes are commonly placed in pediatric patients because of the high frequency of otitis media. Although avoidance of water activity has been recommended to prevent otorrhea, studies indicate that exposure to water does not increase these episodes.

The clinical workflow of arthroscopy typically involves inserting an arthroscope into the joint through a small incision, during which surgeons navigate and operate largely by relying on their visual assessment through the arthroscope. However, the arthroscope's restricted field of view and lack of depth perception pose challenges in navigating complex articular structures and achieving surgical precision during procedures.

This study assesses radiation doses in multi-slice computed tomography (CT) using epoxy resin and PMMA phantoms, focusing on the relationship between TAR (tissue air ratio) and kilovoltage peak (kVp). The research was conducted using a Hitachi Supria 16-slice CT scanner. An epoxy resin phantom was fabricated from commercially available materials, to simulate human tissue.
