Noise pollution is a known health risk factor and evidence for cardiovascular diseases associated with traffic noise is growing. At least 20% of the European Union's population lives in noise-polluted areas with exposure levels exceeding the recommended limits of the World Health Organization, which is considered unhealthy by the European Environment Agency. This results in the annual loss of 1.

Liver ischaemia-reperfusion (IR) injury remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality following liver transplantation and resection. CD4+ T cells have been shown to play a key role in murine models; however, there is currently a lack of data that support their role in human patients. Data on clinical outcomes and complications were documented prospectively in 28 patients undergoing first elective liver transplant surgery.

A high prevalence of rotator cuff tears presents a major clinical challenge. A better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying enthesis development and healing is needed for developing treatments. We recently identified hedgehog (Hh)-lineage cells critical for enthesis development and repair.

Current musculoskeletal models used to understand shoulder biomechanics are limited by challenges in personalization, inaccuracies in predicting joint and muscle loads, and an inability to simulate anatomically accurate motions. To address these deficiencies, we developed a novel, personalized modeling framework capable of calibrating subject-specific joint centers and functional axes for the shoulder complex.

Background: Multiple factors, such as muscle fatty infiltration (FI), tendon collagen content, and collagen arrangement, determine bone-tendon interface (BTI) healing after rotator cuff (RC) repair.
Purpose: To evaluate the effects of systemic administration of ezetimibe-atorvastatin (EZE/ATZ) combination on muscle FI and tendon collagen density and arrangement in an RC repair rat model.
Study Design: Controlled laboratory study.
