In the study, we attempted to clarify the correlations of to prognosis and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). expression was analyzed the Oncomine database, Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis, Hepatocellular carcinoma data base, Human Protein Atlas database and Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER). We showed the correlation of with the clinical characteristics using UALCAN. We evaluated the influence of on clinical prognosis using Kaplan-Meier plotter databases. And co-expressed genes with and its regulators were identified using LinkedOmics. The correlations between and cancer immune infiltrates were investigated TIMER. We analyzed the drug sensitivity and immunotherapy response via R package. was found up-regulated in tumor tissues in multiple HCC cohorts, also increased in HCC patient with different clinical characteristics. High expression was associated with poorer overall survival. expression showed a strong positive association with the expression of ACBD6, a strong negative association with AGXT212. The cell components and distribution in treatment and non-treatment of HCC patients were quite distinct, which may reveal the relationship between the immunotherapy with tumor microenvironment. Notably, expression was positively correlated with infiltrating levels of immune cells. These findings suggest that is correlated with prognosis and immune infiltrating in HCC, which can be used as a prognostic biomarker for determining prognosis, laying a foundation for further study of the immune regulatory role of in HCC.

Although therapies based on direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) effectively eradicate hepatitis C virus (HCV) in patients, there is still a high risk of liver fibrosis even after a sustained virological response. Therefore, it is of great clinical importance to understand the mechanism of potential factors that promote liver fibrosis after virological cure by treatment with DAAs. Here, we found that tubulointerstitial nephritis antigen-like 1 (TINAGL1) is significantly increased in HCV-infected hepatocytes and in the liver of patients with liver fibrosis, and that higher TINAGL1 expression persists in HCV-eradicated hepatocytes after treatment with DAAs.

Cold exposure has been historically used for medicinal purposes, but its benefits and associated mechanisms in mammalian organisms still remain unclear. Here, we explore the chemoprotective properties of cold temperature using a mouse model of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that recapitulates several human features. Chronic cold exposure is shown to prolong lifespan in diseased mice, enhance liver health, and suppress the development of aggressive HCC, preventing hepatocellular hypertrophy, high-grade oval cell hyperplasia, liver steatosis, and aberrant hepatocyte hyperproliferation.
