Purpose: To investigate the incidence, clinical spectrum and pathophysiology of microcystoid macular edema (MME) in two cohorts of patients with epiretinal membrane (ERM) and idiopathic full thickness macular hole (FTMH).
Design: Single-center, Retrospective, interventional, cohort study.
Methods: Review of clinical charts, structural and en-face optical coherence tomographty (OCT) and fluorescein angiography (FA) imaging of ERM and FTMH eyes which underwent surgery with pars plana vitrectomy and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peel, with a minimum follow-up of 6 months.

Background: Retinoblastoma (Rb) is the most common intraocular malignancy of childhood. The prognosis in Rb directly relates to the spread of disease beyond the eye, particularly to the central nervous system. The recently published mini-review article by Miotti is an effort to clarify various aspects regarding the choice between fat grafts and fillers in facial aesthetic surgery. One of the complications associated with the administration of fillers is the possibility of vascular injury and spread of the dermal filler into the orbit, causing unexpected effects at a site distant from that of the initial injection, including ophthalmoplegia, ptosis and even visual compromise. Acute vision loss following filler injection is a devastating complication, occurring in up to 0.

Purpose: To evaluate the surgical outcomes of pediatric familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) complicated by tractional maculopathy.
Methods: Retrospective case series. Chart review of 14 children (15 eyes) diagnosed with tractional maculopathy-complicated FEVR who received vitrectomy.

Department of Ophthalmology, Xin Hua Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China.
Purpose: To present a novel intraoperative technique using a flute needle to induce posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) in pediatric retinal cases.
Methods: Following 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy in pediatric eyes with complex vitreoretinal disease, triamcinolone is applied for staining, and vitreous hydro-dissection is performed. A flute needle containing basic salt solution (BSS) is introduced to separate the thin residual posterior vitreous cortex from the retina near the vascular arcades.
