Lead-free tin perovskite solar cells (PKSCs) have attracted tremendous interest as a replacement for toxic lead-based PKSCs. Nevertheless, the efficiency is significantly low due to the rough surface morphology and high number of defects, which are caused by the fast crystallization and easy oxidization. In this study, a facile and universal posttreatment strategy of sequential passivation with acetylacetone (ACAC) and ethylenediamine (EDA) is proposed. The results show that ACAC can reduce the trap density and enlarge the grain size (short-circuit current (J ) enhancement), while EDA can bond the undercoordinated tin and regulate the energy level (open-circuit voltage (V ) enhancement). A promising 13 % efficiency is achieved with better stability. In addition, other combinations of diketones or amines are selected, with similar effects. This study provides a universal strategy to enhance the crystallinity and passivate defects while fabricating stable PKSCs with high efficiency.

Building 2D/3D heterojunction is a promising approach to passivate surface defects and improve the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Developing effective methods to build high-quality 2D/3D heterojunction is in demand. The formation of 2D/3D heterojunction involves both the diffusion of 2D spacer molecules and phase transition from 3D to 2D structure.

Compartmentalization of multiple single cells and/or single microbeads holds significant potential for advanced biological research including single-cell transcriptome analysis or cell-cell interactions. To ensure reliable analysis and prevent misinterpretation, it is essential to achieve highly efficient pairing or combining of single objects. In this paper, we introduce a novel microfluidic device coupled with a multilayer interconnect Si/SiO control circuit, named the deterministic single-cell combinatorial reactor (DSCR) device, for the highly efficient combination of multiple single cells.

Charge transport and metal site stability play a critical role on realizing efficient solar water splitting in photoelectrochemical devices. Here, we investigated BiVO-based composite photoanodes (labelled as NF@PTA/2PACz/BVO) in which BiVO, [2-(9H-carbazol-9-yl) ethyl] phosphonic acid (2PACz) hole transport layers based on self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), and terephthalic acid (PTA)-functionalized NiFeOOH (NF@PTA) oxygen evolution cocatalysts (OECs) structurally similar to the OECs in natural photosystem II, were assembled sequentially. Alignment of energy levels and stabilization of metal sites can be achieved by this layer-designed structure.

XPS data processing for cobalt and nickel core-level peaks can be complicated. This is especially true when analyzing a mixture of oxide/oxyhydroxide/hydroxide compounds of these metals. The objective of this study is to develop a method for decomposing XPS spectra of 2p core levels for nickel and cobalt-oxidized compounds.
