A green synthetic approach and facile method was developed to produce pyrazole compounds () by the reaction of ethyl acetoacetate (), hydrazines (), and catalytic imidazole () in aqueous media. 4-Dicyanomethylene-2-pyrazoline-5-one derivatives () were synthesized through the reaction of 2-pyrazoline-5-one derivatives () with tetracyanoethylene (TCE) () by using catalytic imidazole () in an aqueous medium. Moreover, the 4-dicyanomethylene derivative () was obtained via treatment of 1-phenyl-3,5-pyrazolidinedione (1) with TCE (). The spiropyrazoleoxirane derivatives ( and ) were prepared by treating the precursor 4-dicyanomethylene-2-pyrazoline-5-one derivative () with hydrogen peroxide in various polar solvents under alkaline conditions. The spiropyrazole oxirane derivative () was used as a precursor for the design of functionalized pyrazolone derivatives ( and , ). The chemical structure of the novel designed derivatives was ascertained based on elemental analyses, mp, thin-layer chromatography, and spectral analyses. Furthermore, some of the synthesized derivatives were examined against different pathogenic bacterial and fungal strains. Their results demonstrated that some of them revealed notable antimicrobial activities.

Improving the catalytic efficiency and recyclability of immobilized enzyme remained a serious challenge in industrial applications. Enzyme immobilization in the amorphous zeolite imidazolate framework (aZIF) preserved high enzyme activity, but still faced separation difficulties and a low catalytic efficiency in practice. In this study, a one-pot co-precipitation method was used to form the enzyme-aZIF/magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) biocomposite by rapidly precipitating snailase (Sna) and β-glucosidase (β-G) with metal/ligand on MNP and modifying with L-aspartic acid (Asp).

In this study, a novel polyacrylate-co-vinyl imidazole hydrogel-supported palladium (Pd) catalyst (P(AA-co-VI)@Pd) was prepared through heat-initiated polymerization, starting with the formation of a complex between vinyl imidazole and palladium chloride, followed by the addition of 75% neutralized acrylic acid (AA), crosslinking agent, and initiator. The structure and morphology of the catalyst were characterized using ICP-OES, SEM, EDX, Mapping, FT-IR, TGA, XRD, XPS and TEM techniques. It was confirmed that the catalyst exhibited excellent compatibility with water solvent and uniform distribution of Pd.

The complex pathology of Parkinson's disease (PD) requires comprehensive understanding and multi-pronged interventions for communication between nerve cells. Despite new developments in nanotechnology in the treatment of PD, in-depth exploration of their biological effects, in particular, the specific mechanisms of inflammation inhibition are lacking. Herein, using the stable cascade catalysis channel formed by polydopamine (PDA), imidazole groups, and Cu ions, a microgel system comprising functional monomers [superoxide dismutase (SOD) with double bonds, PDA, 2-methacryloyloxy ethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC), and Cu ions] is proposed for managing PD.

Easily obtainable and efficient chiral -symmetric bipyridine-,'-dioxide ligands with Ni(OTf) were developed for application in catalyzing [3 + 2] cycloaddition reactions to synthesize optically active fused pyrazolidines or pyrazoline derivatives featuring three contiguous stereogenic centers by employing azomethine imines and α,β-unsaturated 2-acyl imidazoles, affording the corresponding adducts with the opposite configuration compared to previous synthetic products in 80-98% yields with 28-99% ee and >20:1 dr. In addition, subsequent amplification experiments and derivative transformations of the product further demonstrated the efficient catalytic performance of the catalyst Ni(II)-bipyridine-,'-dioxide complexes and the practicality of this synthesis methodology.

Among the various studies on CO2 utilization, the sustainable and cost-effective fixation of CO2 into cyclic carbonates remains one of the most intriguing subjects. To this end, a novel type of composite dicationic ionic liquid material, DIL@PDIL, was developed. This composite consists of a dicationic ionic liquid (DIL), DMAP[TMGH]Br, supported on a polymeric dicationic ionic liquid (PDIL), P-DVB/Im[TMGH]Br.
