This study aimed to investigate the potential hypoglycemic mechanism of red ginseng acidic polysaccharides (RGAP) from the perspective of fatty acid (FA) regulation. A high-glucose/high-fat diet in conjunction with streptozotocin administration was employed to establish type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rat models, and their fecal FAs were detected using the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method. RGAP treatment alleviated the polyphagia, polydipsia, weight loss, and hyperglycemia observed in T2DM rats.

Regarding flotillin knockdown, drug resistance is reversed in colorectal cancer (CRC) cell lines; this is associated with the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) pathway, as our previous experimental results indicated. However, the exact mechanism underlying this pathway remains unclear. PI3K inhibitor and activator were added separately to clarify the role of the PI3K pathway in reversing drug resistance.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a type of hemorrhagic stroke, and the neuroprotective effects of nimodipine following SAH have been well-documented. Sirtuin 3 (SIRT3), a mitochondrial nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent deacetylase, plays a significant role in mitigating oxidative stress in various neurodegenerative conditions. However, the role of SIRT3 in the neuroprotective mechanisms of nimodipine after SAH remains unclear.

Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a severe neurological injury during infancy, often resulting in long-term cognitive deficits. This study aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effects of Edaravone (EDA), a free radical scavenger, and elucidate the potential role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in mediating these effects in neonatal HIE rats. Using the Rice-Vannucci model, HIE was induced in neonatal rats, followed by immediate administration of EDA after the hypoxic-ischemic insult.

Opioid use disorder (OUD) affects over 40 million people worldwide, creating significant social and economic burdens. Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) is often considered the primary treatment approach for OUD. MOUD, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone is effective for some, but its benefits may be limited by poor adherence to treatment recommendations.
