Mental health of women is adversely affected during pregnancy. Stress and depression during pregnancy negatively impact birthweight and neuro-cognitive development of the fetus. The current crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic further adds to the stressful situation. Yoga practiced during pregnancy has beneficial effects on improving stress and depression and preliminary evidence suggests that yoga-based interventions can improve immunity. This study aims to examine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a -based intervention for maternal ental health and i munity (Yoga-M ) in a rural community in India. The study design will be a single-blind individual randomized parallel group-controlled pilot trial with 1:1 allocation ratio. Adult pregnant women, with gestational age between 12-24 weeks will be randomly allocated to either the Yoga-M group or the Enhanced Usual Care (EUC) group. Participants in the Yoga-M arm will attend weekly group yoga sessions for 12 weeks and will be encouraged to practice yoga at home. In the EUC arm, participants will receive a single session of health education. Eligibility of the participants, recruitment, retention-in-care, and study completion rates will be estimated and feasibility of delivering Yoga-M and acceptability of this intervention by the participants will be assessed. Change in the scores of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), EuroQoL 5 Dimensions Score (EQ-5D-5L), Wisconsin Upper Respiratory Symptom Severity Scale (WURSS-21), and serum C-Reactive Protein at three-months from baseline will be used to assess preliminary efficacy. The key outputs of this trial will be a structured intervention manual and evidence about the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of the intervention, establishing the foundation to undertake an explanatory randomized controlled trial to assess efficacy and cost-effectiveness of Yoga-M intervention. Rectus abdominis diastasis (RAD) is a key factor in the rehabilitation of postpartum women. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Kinesio Taping (KT) in RAD treatment and abdominal changes. The medical records of women with RAD who received KT treatment at the hospital were reviewed.

Purpose: To explore the efficacy of interventional ultrasound treatment for hoarseness caused by nondisconnected recurrent laryngeal nerve injury after thyroidectomy.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, we analysed the clinical data of 21 patients who underwent interventional ultrasound therapy (ultrasound-guided injection of a Diprospan and saline mixture) for postthyroidectomy hoarseness at our hospital between August 1, 2023, and January 31, 2024 (the Diprospan group) and randomly selected 21 patients who did not receive any treatment for postthyroidectomy hoarseness during the same period as the control group. The average vocal cord activity improvement time for the Diprospan group was calculated and compared with that of untreated patients from previous studies.

For over three decades, praziquantel (PZQ) has been the mainstay chemotherapy for prevention and treatment of schistosomiasis. The excessive use of PZQ, coupled with the lack of advanced drug candidates in the current anti-schistosomiasis drug development pipeline, emphasizes the genuine need for new drugs. In the current work, we investigated the antischistosomal potential of a new series of compounds derived from the privileged benzimidazole scaffold, which exhibited low micromolar IC potency in the range of 1.

Introduction: Older patients with cancer (65 years and older) are a growing population with unique nutrition-and treatment-related issues that accelerate aging. Nutrition interventions attenuate nutritional decline, muscle loss, and risk of malnutrition and sarcopenia in patients with cancer, however the evidence for older patients with cancer is limited. The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the efficacy of nutrition interventions on nutritional status, body weight/composition and clinical outcomes in older patients with cancer and to identify future research priority areas.
