Chinese jujube () is a vital economic tree native to China. Jujube fruit with abundant L-Ascorbic Acid (AsA) is an ideal material for studying the mechanism of AsA biosynthesis and metabolism. However, the key transcription factors regulating AsA anabolism in jujube have not been reported. Here, we used jujube variety "Mazao" as the experimental material, conducted an integrative analysis of transcriptome and metabolome to investigate changes in differential genes and metabolites, and find the key genes regulating AsA during jujube fruit growth. The results showed that AsA was mostly synthesized in the young stage and enlargement stage, gene takes an important part in the AsA recycling. Three gene networks/modules were highly correlated with AsA, among them, three genes were identified as candidates controlling AsA, including (LOC107404975), (LOC107406320), and (LOC107421670). These results provide new directions and insights for further study on the regulation mechanism of AsA in jujube.

The ARCR_Pred study was initiated to document and predict the safety and effectiveness of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) in a representative Swiss patient cohort. In the present manuscript, we aimed to describe the overall and baseline characteristics of the study, report on functional outcome data and explore case-mix adjustment and differences between public and private hospitals. Between June 2020 and November 2021, primary ARCR patients were prospectively enrolled in a multicenter cohort across 18 Swiss and one German orthopedic center.

Background: The 2019 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) guidelines strongly advise using non-contrast CT (NCCT) of the head as a mandatory test for all patients with suspected acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to CT's advantages of affordability and speed of imaging. Therefore, our objective was to combine patient clinical data with head CT signs to create a nomogram to predict poor outcomes in AIS patients.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 161 patients with acute ischemic stroke who underwent mechanical thrombectomy at the Guangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine from January 2019 to June 2023.

Objectives: One important aspect in facilitating language access for children with hearing loss (HL) is the auditory environment. An optimal auditory environment is characterized by high signal to noise ratios (SNRs), low background noise levels, and low reverberation times. In this study, the authors describe the auditory environment of early intervention groups specifically equipped for young children with HL.

Department of Anesthesia, College of Health Sciences, Debre Tabor University, PO. Box: 272, Debre Tabor, Ethiopia.

Postoperative delirium has the potential to impact individuals of all age groups, with a significant emphasis on the elderly population. Its presence leads to an increase in surgical morbidity and mortality rates, as well as a notable prolongation of hospital stays. However, there is a lack of research regarding the prevalence, risk factors, and implications of postoperative delirium in developing nations like Ethiopia, which affects both patients and healthcare institutions.
