Obesity causes an imbalance in the expression and secretion of several organokines, which in turn contributes to the development of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes mellitus. Organokines are produced by corresponding organs and affect systemic metabolic homeostasis. Diverse organokines play a crucial role in the communication between adipose tissue, skeletal muscle and other organs.

Obesity exacerbates the risk and aggressiveness of many types of cancer. Adipose tissue (AT) represents a prevalent component of the tumor microenvironment (TME) and contributes to cancer development and progression. Reciprocal communication between cancer and adipose cells leads to the generation of cancer-associated adipocytes (CAAs), which in turn foster tumor invasiveness by producing paracrine metabolites, adipocytokines, and growth factors.

Background & Aims: Cardiometabolic traits are complex interrelated traits that result from a combination of genetic and lifestyle factors. This study aimed to assess the interaction between genetic variants and dietary macronutrient intake on cardiometabolic traits [body mass index, waist circumference, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triacylglycerol, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting serum glucose, fasting serum insulin, and glycated haemoglobin].
Methods: This cross-sectional study consisted of 468 urban young adults aged 20 ± 1 years, and it was conducted as part of the Study of Obesity, Nutrition, Genes and Social factors (SONGS) project, a sub-study of the Young Lives study.

The prevalence of obesity and osteoporosis (OP) represents a significant public health concern on a global scale. A substantial body of evidence indicates that there is a complex relationship between obesity and OP, with a correlation between the occurrence of OP and obesity. In recent years, sirtuins have emerged as a prominent area of interest in the fields of aging and endocrine metabolism.

Purpose: Psoriasis is associated with obesity, which in turn is linked to increased mortality risk. Therefore, we undertook a cohort study utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to examine the impact of weight-adjusted waist index (WWI) on the likelihood of all-cause mortality in psoriasis individuals.
Patients And Methods: This study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to investigate the influence of WWI on the probability of all-cause mortality in psoriasis individuals.
