This narrative review assesses the effectiveness of hand gesture analogy teaching in clinical medical education, addressing the growing demand for innovative pedagogical strategies. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, it evaluates the theoretical foundations, implementation strategies, and practical applications of this method across various domains of medical education. Hand gesture analogy teaching significantly enhances student learning by improving engagement, spatial reasoning, and procedural knowledge retention more effectively than conventional instructional methods.

Objective Key challenges in upper limb prosthetics include a lack of effective control systems, the often invasive surgical requirements of brain-controlled limbs, and prohibitive costs. As a result, disuse rates remain high despite potential for increased quality of life. To address these concerns, this project developed a low cost, noninvasive transhumeral neuroprosthesis-operated via a combination of electroencephalography (EEG) signals and head gestures.

Introduction: Both appraisal emotion approaches and self-regulation theory emphasize that appraising an event as conducive or detrimental to one's current goals may trigger an affective response that can be observed nonverbally. Because there may be a female advantage in the inhibition and self-regulation of emotions, we hypothesized that female but not male athletes regulate emotions during sports through explicit nonverbal behaviors.
Methods: All nonverbal hand movement behavior of right-handed female and male tennis athletes was recorded during competitive matches.
