Ataxia is defined as a lack of coordination of voluntary movement, caused by a variety of factors. Ataxia can be classified by the age at onset and type (chronic or acute). The causative lesions involve the cerebellum and cerebellar connections. The correct, appropriate use of neuroimaging, particularly magnetic resonance imaging, can make the diagnosis relatively accurate and facilitate implementation of the appropriate clinical management. The purpose of this pictorial essay is to describe the imaging findings of ataxia, based on cases obtained from the archives of a tertiary care hospital, with a review of the most important findings. We also review and discuss the imaging aspects of infectious, toxic, vascular, and inflammatory diseases.

Background: Globose neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) are found in subcortical areas of post-mortem brain from individuals with the second most common primary tauopathy, progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). The degree of cognitive impairment in secondary tauopathies such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) correlates with the presence of NFTs, which originally appear in the entorhinal cortex before spreading throughout the hippocampus. In contrast, the degree of hippocampal tau pathology in PSP is thought to be limited, consistent with the view that cognitive impairment in PSP is predominantly subcortical.

Background: Older adults increasingly rely on digital technologies to perform instrumental activities of daily living (iADLs), including commerce, managing accounts online, using texting and websites for social connection, and accessing health services via web platforms. Despite the increasingly central role of technology to daily life, current iADL measures do not regularly capture the digital approach to daily activities. The current study had three broad aims 1) determine the applicability of technology-based iADLs to the daily lives of older adults being evaluated for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD), 2) compare the level of dependence for tech and traditional iADL items, and 3) determine if adding technology related iADL items improves the diagnostic accuracy of iADL assessments.

Background: Neuropsychiatric symptoms are uncommon at Alzheimer's Disease (AD) dementia diagnosis but are exhibited by nearly everyone during the course of dementia. Depressive symptoms are common in AD dementia. We sought to determine correlations between memory, executive functioning, language, neuropsychiatric symptoms, and depressive symptoms at AD dementia diagnosis, and to characterize neuropsychiatric and depressive symptoms across groups defined by substantial relative cognitive impairments, using data from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC).

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations like the common L858R and exon 19 deletions are well studied, but rarer mutations like exon 19 insertions have received less attention. This case report describes a patient with this uncommon EGFR exon 19 insertion mutation in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma. A 51-year-old male nonsmoker with metastatic lung adenocarcinoma and a rare EGFR exon 19 insertion mutation experienced disease progression on initial carboplatin-pemetrexed chemotherapy.

This case adds to the scientific literature by highlighting the potential risk of common fruits, such as grapes, in causing serious gastrointestinal blockages in pediatric patients, which is an uncommon but important consideration for pediatricians and caregivers.
Main Symptoms And Clinical Findings: A 7-month-old female presented with a 3-day history of vomiting, which progressed to bilious vomiting, accompanied by abdominal distension and dehydration.
