Published: August 2022

An oxidative amidation of 2-methylpyridines/2-methylbenzimidazole with amines using copper acetate and elemental sulfur in DMSO to afford various -(hetero)arylamides has been accomplished. Mechanistic studies reveal the intermediacy of -(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)aniline and confirm the role of DMSO as the oxygen source.

In this present investigation, plant-mediated synthesis of titanium oxide (TiO) nanoparticles was synthesized from seagrass (Thalassia hemprichi) using the hot plate combustion method (HPCM). Synthesized TiO nanoparticles optical, functional, structural, and morphology properties were analyzed by UV-visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). SEM analysis confirmed the spherical shape of the TiO nanoparticles were observed in various sizes, viz.

Inner Helmholtz layer control through co-solvent strategies for high-performance copper hexacyanoferrate//zinc battery.

Copper hexacyanoferrate (CuHCF) demonstrates high working voltage, convenient synthesis methods, and economic benefits. However, capacity decay of CuHCF//Zn full cells is usually observed in aqueous electrolytes due to the dissolution of Cu and Fe, as indicated by the irreversible insertion of Zn ions and the consequent formation of ZnCuHCF. To address these challenges, a cathode-oriented electrolyte engineering design employing a methyl acetate (MA) co-solvent with zinc triflate (Zn(OTf)) salt electrolyte is implemented.

A novel photocatalytic method for the synthesis of 1,4-benzoxazepine using 2-alkoxyarylaldehyde as an oxygen source and -arylglycine as a nitrogen source has been reported. This method is mild, efficient, and fast, and the corresponding reaction can be completed within 2 h at room temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere and light-irradiation conditions. Mechanistic studies have confirmed that this scheme involves the decarboxylation cyclization of -arylglycine and provides a convenient pathway for the preparation of various 2-alkyl--phenyl-substituted 1,4-benzoxazepine.

Background: Digital interventions typically involve using smartphones or PCs to access online or downloadable self-help and may offer a more accessible and convenient option than face-to-face interventions for some people with mild to moderate eating disorders. They have been shown to substantially reduce eating disorder symptoms, but treatment dropout rates are higher than for face-to-face interventions. We need to understand user experiences and preferences for digital interventions to support the design and development of user-centered digital interventions that are engaging and meet users' needs.

Pyrrole in a cholesteric liquid crystal was discharged using a Tesla coil to generate pyrrole radicals, affording linear-shaped nano-ordered pyrrole oligomers. Subsequently, the electrochemical polymerisation of a pre-oriented pyrrole oligomer having good affinity for liquid crystals was performed to achieve polypyrrole-imprinted asymmetry from the cholesteric liquid crystal structure. The resultant polymers were analysed using polarising optical microscopy observations, scanning electron microscopy, electrochemistry, optical spectroscopy, and electron spin resonance.
