Maternity Protection - A Guide for Pregnant Physicians and Their Employers The proportion of women in the medical profession is high and shows an upward trend. When a woman becomes pregnant, she has a legal right to various measures to protect herself and the unborn child. Practice and literature show that even 20 years after the introduction of the Maternity Protection Ordinance, the knowledge and ultimately the implementation of the existing legislation in everyday clinical practice is still expandable. For example, it is important to know that a competent professional must perform a risk assessment for dangerous and arduous activities. In addition, there are special regulations regarding permitted working hours and a protection against dismissal.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is a severe inflammatory condition of the respiratory system, associated with high morbidity and mortality. This study investigates the therapeutic potential of tocilizumab (TZ), an IL-6 receptor inhibitor, in mitigating lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI by modulating the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) pathway. An ALI model was established using LPS induction.

Riverine flooding is increasing in frequency and intensity, requiring river management agencies to consider new approaches to working with communities on flood mitigation planning. Communication and information sharing between agencies and communities is complex, and mistrust and misinformation arise quickly when communities perceive that they are excluded from planning. Subsequently, riverfront community members create narratives that can be examined as truth regimes-truths created and repeated that indicate how flooding and its causes are understood, represented, and discussed within their communities-to explain why flooding occurs in their area.

Mediastinal mass syndrome represents a major threat to respiratory and cardiovascular integrity, with difficult evidence-based risk stratification for interdisciplinary management. We conducted a narrative review concerning risk stratification and difficult airway management of patients presenting with a large mediastinal mass. This is supplemented by a case report illustrating our individual approach for a patient presenting with a subtotal tracheal stenosis due to a large cyst of the thyroid gland.

Multi-Task Federated Split Learning Across Multi-Modal Data with Privacy Preservation.

Sensors (Basel)

State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Vehicle Safety Technology, Chongqing 401133, China.

With the advancement of federated learning (FL), there is a growing demand for schemes that support multi-task learning on multi-modal data while ensuring robust privacy protection, especially in applications like intelligent connected vehicles. Traditional FL schemes often struggle with the complexities introduced by multi-modal data and diverse task requirements, such as increased communication overhead and computational burdens. In this paper, we propose a novel privacy-preserving scheme for multi-task federated split learning across multi-modal data (MTFSLaMM).
