The expansion of the edible fungi industry has resulted in the production of large amounts of edible fungus residues, causing great pressure on environmental protection. Therefore, research on edible fungus residue utilization has become a controversial issue. Thus far, numerous efforts have been devoted to separate active substances from edible fungus substrates and residues for high application value utilization. Building upon this, the main methods for extracting active substances from edible mushroom residues are reviewed, and the mechanisms, influencing factors, and trade-offs of the various methods are analysed. Furthermore, the existing and possible directions of utilization of the extracted active substances are reviewed and discussed. Finally, challenges and prospects for the extraction and utilization of different substances in edible fungus residues are proposed. This review provides an effective strategy for protecting the ecological environment and promoting the sustainable development of human society.

Objectives: Racial and ethnic differences in long-term outcomes associated with medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) are poorly understood.
Methods: The present analyses were based on 751 participants with opioid use disorder (OUD) who were initially recruited from opioid treatment programs located in California, Connecticut, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington and participated in a randomized controlled trial and at least one follow-up interview. 9.

The aim of the present study was to compare the antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral activities of Podkarpackie coniferous honeydew honey and Manuka honey. The quality of tested honey samples (honeydew-12 and Manuka-4) regarding honey standard was evaluated as well as additional indicators (methylglyoxal, total phenolics and HPTLC phenolic profile, antioxidant potential, glucose oxidase activity, and hydrogen peroxide) were compared. Antibacterial potential was analyzed against Gram-positive (S.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a blinding complication of microangiopathy. First-line therapeutic drugs are all focused on late-stage DR and have several side effects, which could not meet clinical needs. The plant-derived ginsenoside Ro (Ro) has a variety of effective anti-inflammatory, immune-regulating, and cardiovascular protective effects, but its microvascular protective effects are rarely studied.

There are abundant glycosylated substances such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and phytochemical glycosides in plants, which could be converted into functional chemicals such as monosaccharides, oligosaccharides, and bioactive aglycones by cleavage of glycosidic bonds using glycoside hydrolases (GHs). Among those GHs, β-glucosidase and β-xylosidase are the rate-limiting enzymes for degrading cellulose and hemicellulose, respectively, and can convert a variety of glycosylated substances. These two enzymes play important roles in the high value use of plant resources and have great potential applications.

Unlabelled: Use of electronic cigarette (vaping) devices, whether to inhale nicotine, cannabis, or other substances, may pose health risks to adolescents. Those risks could be heightened when a vaping device is "fake," a term we use to include inauthentic, knockoff, counterfeit, and/or adulterated devices, an issue exemplified by the Electronic Cigarette, or Vaping, Product Use-Associated Lung Injury (EVALI) outbreak of 2019-2020.
Methods: Investigators completed in-depth, semi-structured interviews in 2020-2021 with 47 California adolescents (ages 13-17) who used nicotine products.
