In the domain of online reinforcement learning, strategies that leverage inherent rewards for exploration tend to achieve commendable outcomes within contexts characterized by deceptive or sparse rewards. Counting through the visitation of states is an efficient count-based exploration method to get the proper intrinsic reward. However, only the novelty of the states encountered by the agent is considered in this exploration method, resulting in the over-exploration of a certain state-action pair and falling into a locally optimal solution.

Background: Contrast sensitivity is an important measure of vision quality. Risk of falling injury is strongly associated with poor contrast sensitivity compared with poor near- and distance visual acuity. The continuous, automated monitoring of sensor-based data for walking capacity and mobility has expanded gait analysis applications beyond controlled laboratory settings to real-world, everyday environments facilitated by the development of portable, cost-efficient wearable sensors. In particular, the integration of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) into smart shoes has proven effective for capturing detailed foot movements and spatiotemporal gait characteristics. While IMUs enable accurate foot trajectory estimation through the double integration of acceleration data, challenges such as drift errors necessitate robust correction techniques to ensure reliable performance.

: Primary gynecological melanomas are rare malignancies with lower survival rates compared to cutaneous melanomas. Both preclinical and clinical data support the evidence that mucosal melanomas are photon-radioresistant but responsive to carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT). The aim of this study is to assess, in a real-world cohort, the effectiveness and tolerability of radical CIRT in patients with inoperable gynecological mucosal melanoma.
