Objectives: The Dunning-Kruger effect (DKE) is a cognitive bias wherein individuals who are unskilled overestimate their abilities, while those who are skilled tend to underestimate their capabilities. The purpose of this investigation is to determine if the DKE exists among American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) in-training examination (ITE) participants.
Methods: This is a prospective, cross-sectional survey of residents in Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited emergency medicine (EM) residency programs.

Overestimation and bias are often accompanied with various dangers on a personal, organizational or even societal level. We investigated the presence of overestimation among high school graduates in Slovenia in areas of teamwork, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, problem solving, and decision making.

As the ability to access information evolves beyond standard search engines, patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) and their parents may use artificial intelligence chatbots such as ChatGPT as a new source of information.
Methods: Ten frequently asked questions regarding AIS were posed to ChatGPT.

This effect has been observed in a number of domains including humor, grammar, and logic. In this paper, we explore if and how DKE manifests in visual reasoning and judgment tasks.
