The gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota plays a crucial role in host health and disease in dogs, but the knowledge regarding the mucosal associated microbiota along the GI tract is limited in dogs. Therefore, the objective of this study was to characterize the phylogeny and predicted functional capacity of microbiota residing on the gut mucosa across five GI regions of healthy young adult and geriatric dogs fed different diets. Twelve weanling (8 weeks old) and 12 senior (11.

Background: This study aimed to quantitatively examine gastric mucosal nerve density (GMND) in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD) and analyzed its clinical correlation.
Methods: We prospectively enrolled 35 patients with FD and 16 age-and gender-matched healthy controls for comparison of GMND on endoscopic biopsy, scores of Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index (GCSI), and gastric emptying scintigraphy (GES).
Results: Patients with FD had lower GMND than the control subjects in gastric antrum, body, and fundus.
Aim: In this study, we evaluated the difference in short-term outcomes and postoperative nutritional status between subtotal gastrectomy (sTG) and proximal gastrectomy (PG) to determine the optimal surgical treatment for early gastric cancer in the upper third of the stomach.
Methods: Patients who underwent laparoscopic or robotic sTG or PG at the Shizuoka Cancer Center in Shizuoka between January 2014 and December 2020 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Patient characteristics, surgical outcomes, endoscopic findings, and postoperative nutritional changes, including blood tests, body weight, psoas muscle, and subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue, were measured and compared between the two groups.

Objective: Proximal gastrectomy (PG) is commonly used to remove proximal gastric cancer leading to gastroesophageal reflux and requires digestive tract reconstruction. This study is to compare the performance of esophagogastrostomy (EG), jejunal interposition (JI), and double tract reconstruction (DTR) on post-PG reconstruction effectiveness.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using the clinical data of 94 PG patients who underwent digestive tract reconstruction by EG (37 patients), JI (29 patients) or DTR (28 patients).

Purpose: The study aimed to compare the diagnostic accuracy of Ga-DOTA-FAPI-04 (Ga-FAPI) and F-FDG PET/CT for peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) in patients with various types of cancer.
Methods: The study enrolled 113 patients with suspected peritoneal malignancy, each of whom underwent Ga-FAPI and F-FDG PET/CT scans. Lesions in all patients were confirmed through pathology or radiological follow-up.
