Background: The new anti-Aβ antibody drugs aducanumab and lecanemab (approved in the US, not yet in Europe) must be followed up closely and regularly long-term. Previous knowledge on progression of AD in routine clinical settings longterm is crucial when introducing new dementia medications. The Swedish national quality database on dementia/cognitive disorders, SveDem, where data on different dementia disorders at the time of the dementia diagnosis since 2007 and on mild cognitive impairment (MCI) since 2021 with annual follow-ups of MMSE scores can provide this unique information.

Background: Subarachnoid hyperdensity (SAH) after endovascular thrombectomy is a well-known phenomenon. Nevertheless, the clinical significance and natural history of this phenomenon is not well described. In addition, we test previously postulated hypotheses of distal occlusions sites and antithrombotic use to SAH prevalence and extent.

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) cause cerebral abscess and ischemic stroke due to paradoxical emboli, risks that are increasingly recognized. We report the evolving placement of thoracic surgery in multi-disciplinary team management of PAVMs that were sporadic or associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. From 1983 to 2006, all patients receiving elective treatment had embolization.

Purpose Of Review: To explore the definitions of sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy and how that impacts interpretation of the available data and considerations of long-term prognosis and management.
Recent Findings: The field of sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy has been hampered by lack of consensus about its proper definition, with a great deal of heterogeneity in clinical trial data in both individual studies and meta-analyses and consequent disparity of estimates of incidence, prognosis, and clinical significance. New diagnostic techniques, while potentially shedding light on pathophysiology, have only exacerbated these challenges.

Background: Persistent cortical deafness in the pediatric population is rarely reported, and there is limited information on its implications for early intervention.
Objectives: This study aims to (1) conduct a scoping review on pediatric cortical deafness and (2) present a case report of a 7-year-old girl with left unilateral spastic cerebral palsy and cortical deafness resulting from presumed perinatal bilateral stroke.
Methods: A search of PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science identified 407 manuscripts.
