Objective:  This article analyzes the role of extract in reducing the proinflammatory cytokine interleukin (IL)-1β produced by salivary neutrophils.

Material And Methods:  Selected kindergartens in the Surabaya area provided samples. The sample was initially checked for dental caries by measuring its def-t index, and then the participants who satisfied the requirements for severe caries with a def-t of greater than 6 were chosen. At the time of sampling, all of the individuals were between the ages of 4 and 6. The sampling was performed by researchers and certified persons using well-known methodologies. For 60 minutes before to sampling, respondents were not allowed to eat, drink, chew gum, or brush their teeth. For analysis, the samples were collected and then frozen at -80°C.

Results:  The administration of methanolic extract decreased the expression of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1β on the surface of salivary neutrophils on S-ECC; The administration of methanol extract resulted in a decrease in the expression of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1β on the surface of salivary neutrophils in S-ECC.

Conclusion:   extract has the effect of reducing the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1β produced by salivary neutrophils on S-ECC via inhibiting nuclear factor kappa B and mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway activation and suggest that is a possible candidate for treating S-ECC.

Fowl typhoid (FT) poses a significant threat to the poultry industry and can cause substantial economic losses, especially in developing regions. Caused by Salmonella Gallinarum (SG), vaccination can prevent FT. However, existing vaccines, like the SG9R strain, have limitations, including residual virulence and potential reversion of pathogenicity.

The respiratory tract hosts a diverse microbial community whose composition varies with anatomical location and throughout life. Rothia mucilaginosa, a common commensal of the upper respiratory tract and oral cavity, has recently been recognized for its ability to inhibit bacteria-triggered pro-inflammatory responses. However, its role in modulating the immune response to viral infections such as influenza A virus (IAV) pneumonia, remains unknown.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) arises from dysregulated wound healing, leading to excessive extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition and impaired lung function. Macrophages exhibit high plasticity, polarizing to pro-inflammatory M1 during early inflammation and anti-inflammatory, fibrosis-inducing M2 during later stages of PF. Additionally, neutrophils and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) release mediated by peptidyl arginine deiminase (PAD-4), also play a key role in PF progression.

This study aimed to define the antitumor effect of ethanolic extract of Pistacia vera leaves (PEE) toward breast cancer both in vitro and in vivo using dimethyl-benz(a)anthracene (DMBA)-induced breast tumor in adult female rats. PEE showed a potent antioxidant effect toward both DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) and ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) radicals with IC values of 72.6 and 107.

Background: The mechanisms underlying esketamine's therapeutic effects remain elusive. The study aimed to explore the impact of single esketamine treatment on LPS-induced adolescent depressive-like behaviors and the role of Nrf2 regulated neuroinflammatory response in esketamine-produced rapid antidepressant efficacy.

Methods: Adolescent male C57BL/6J mice were randomly assigned to three groups: control, LPS, and LPS + esketamine (15 mg/kg, i.
