Objective: In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of the Ankaferd Blood Stopper (ABS) on nasal bleeding, pain, eating disorders, and sleeping problems in patients undergoing septoplasty.
Methods: The prospective study included 100 patients who underwent septoplasty surgery. Patients were divided into two groups based on the chronological order of hospital admission: Group I was administered the ABS, and Group II was administered a standard Invotec Merocel nasal tampon. In both groups, the intensity of pain experienced by patients postoperatively during tampon use and tampon removal was assessed using the visual analogue scale (VAS).
Results: A significant difference was found between the two groups with regard to VAS scores assessed during tampon use. In the ABS group, the VAS scores assessed during tampon use were significantly lower, and the incidence of nasal obstruction, eating disorders, dripping-type bleeding before tampon removal, and sleeping problems was significantly lower in the ABS group than in the Merocel group.
Conclusions: The ABS may be a viable alternative to other nasal packs, as it did not lead to a significant reduction in postoperative patient comfort during tampon use and caused a lower incidence of postoperative pain, eating disorders, sleeping problems, and nasal obstruction than standard Merocel tampons.

Background: Historically, eating disorder (ED) research has largely focused on White girls and women, with minority ethnic populations underrepresented. Most research exploring EDs in minority ethnic populations has been conducted in the United States (US). The aim of this scoping review, the first of its kind, was to systematically examine research on disordered eating and EDs among minority ethnic populations in Australia, Canada, Aotearoa New Zealand and the United Kingdom (UK), four countries with shared sociocultural and healthcare characteristics.

Slimmer's paralysis is a peripheral mononeuropathy of the common peroneal (fibular) nerve (CPN/CFN), typically associated with rapid weight loss resulting in loss of subcutaneous fat pad and subsequent neural compression at the fibular head. Here, we describe a young man with a 1-year history of right-sided foot drop, which developed following a rapid intentional weight loss of 11 kg over a period of 15 days. This weight loss was preceded by rapid weight gain over 2 days owing to binge eating.

Background: The ongoing global student mental health crisis indicates the urgent need for updated research specifically targeting nursing students. Considering their anticipated transition into healthcare professions, their mental well-being is critical, not only for their academic performance but also for the quality of care they will deliver in their professional roles.
Objective: To estimate the prevalence of mental health issues among nursing students by synthesizing data from systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
