Background: Trimethoprim-Sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) is a commonly used antibiotic for the treatment of several infections, such as urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and in certain cases, septic arthritis. Rhabdomyolysis (RM) is very rare and less than 20 cases have been reported, so far, in the literature, in particular in immunocompromised patients. Here, we report a case of TMP-SMX-induced RM in an immunocompetent patient, adding to the limited data on this association.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 and long COVID can present with nonspecific symptoms resembling adrenal insufficiency. This similarity of symptoms means that adrenal insufficiency hidden among nonspecific manifestations of COVID-19 may pass underrecognized. We present the case of a 53-year-old Japanese man who developed isolated adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) deficiency (IAD) and acute adrenal insufficiency after COVID-19, thus mimicking prolonged symptoms of COVID-19.

Colorectal cancer usually metastasizes through lymphatic, blood, and intraperitoneal implantation. However, rectal cancer combined with perineal invasion after treated with chemotherapy is very rare. The present case study is of a 53-year-old male patient with a history of rectal cancer who developed a recto-perineal fistula with redness, swelling, and pain in the scrotum after repeated chemotherapy.

Introduction: Endolymphatic sac tumor (ELST) is a rare neoplasm that exhibits aggressive growth primarily in the endolymphatic capsule and can potentially affect nearby neurovascular structures. The diagnosis of ELST poses challenges due to its low prevalence, gradual progression, and nonspecific symptomatology. It is currently believed that prompt surgical intervention is recommended for endolymphatic sac tumors upon diagnosis.
