Background: Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is a rare yet significant neurological disorder with high mortality. Understanding its evolving characteristics, risk factors, and outcomes, particularly in Chinese patients after the COVID-19 pandemic, is critical for developing effective preventive and therapeutic strategies.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 471 CVST cases from Xuanwu Hospital, comparing data before (2013-2017, n = 243) and after (2021-2023, n = 228) the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: Efanesoctocog is a B-domain-deleted, Fc-fusion FVIII linked to the D'D3 domain of VWF and two XTEN polypeptides, designed for an ultra-extended half-life for prophylaxis in hemophilia A, but also aiding in managing acute bleeding or surgery in patients on long-term emicizumab. However, no current laboratory method accurately measures FVIII levels in the presence of emicizumab. We hypothesized that the chromogenic (CSA) FVIII assay, specifically calibrated for efanesoctocog using bovine coagulation factors, could provide an accurate assessment of efanesoctocog activity.

Introduction: In the United States, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) ranked high in terms of possibly preventable hospital deaths. Victims of trauma were at a higher risk of developing thromboembolic complications, and thus various agents were used for prophylaxis. Multiple studies recommended holding these agents in the perioperative period to decrease the potential complications of additional bleeding, wound issues, hematoma etc.

Impeller radial gap is one of important parts within a blood pump, which may affect the hemodynamics and hemocompatibility. In this study, computational fluid dynamics method was performed to evaluate the impact of radial gap sizes. The volume of scalar shear stress decreased with radial gap sizes increasing.
