Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) is a common complication secondary to estrogen depletion which leads to tissue changes in the female genitourinary tract. Here, we sought to investigate the short- and long-term effects of CO laser therapy on symptoms of GSM in postmenopausal women. Autonomic dysfunction is a common and early complication among patients with systemic sclerosis, suggesting that it may play a role in the pathogenesis of the disease and be a potential target for therapeutic interventions. Although the true prevalence of autonomic dysfunction among patients with systemic sclerosis is still unclear, it is estimated that as many as 80% of patients may be affected. Autonomic dysfunction may lead to widespread multi-organ dysfunction through its effects on the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, sweat and salivary glands, and pupils.

Objectives: During holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP), blunt dissection (BD) by pushing the tip of the scope may exert mechanical force on the sphincter that could be avoided by adopting laser dissection (LD). This study evaluates the continence recovery in consecutive patients who underwent BD and LD.
Methods: A prospective cohort of patients who underwent LD was compared with a retrospective control that underwent BD.
