This review highlights publications on different aspects of Behçet's syndrome (BS) that appeared in 2021 and provides a critical view. These publications include works on the epidemiology of BS across different continents, newly developed instruments to assess damage in BS, studies highlighting the immunopathogenesis, genetics and epigenetic factors, histopathology of the pathergy lesion, clinical and imaging aspects of vascular involvement, and safety and efficacy of therapeutic agents including tocilizumab, apremilast and direct oral anticoagulants.

Patients treated with cisplatin, a common chemotherapeutic agent, are more likely to develop metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes than age- and sex-matched controls. Purpose Of Review: The increasing use of prone position, in intubated patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome as well as in patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure receiving noninvasive respiratory support, mandates a better definition and monitoring of the response to the manoeuvre. This review will first discuss the definition of the response to prone positioning, which is still largely based on its effect on oxygenation. We will then address monitoring respiratory and hemodynamic responses to prone positioning in intubated patients.

Ketamine, an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist typically used as an anesthetic and analgesic, presents a promising potential treatment for CRPS in patients who fail to respond to traditional therapies.
