Purpose: Xylazine has been associated with necrotic soft tissue wounds that have placed a challenging burden on patients who inject drugs in the Philadelphia region's health care system over the last few years. An analysis of our initial experience is being presented to guide future treatment and directions for future research.

Methods: A retrospective review of 55 patients with patient-reported xylazine use and associated upper-extremity wounds at a single institution was performed.

Objectives: This analysis evaluated the cost-effectiveness of inclisiran plus standard of care (SoC; comprising statins, ezetimibe, and fenofibrate) in primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia from a Singapore healthcare system perspective. Inclisiran + SoC was separately compared with SoC, alirocumab + SoC, and evolocumab + SoC.

Methods: A lifetime Markov model in the United Kingdom (UK) was adapted to the Singapore setting.

Controlling hypertension has become an important issue in the elderly population in whom neurological comorbidities are highly prevalent. Most of the large-scale trials focusing on hypertension management in older populations have excluded patients with comorbid neurological disorders. However, this population requires special considerations, as the benefits of antihypertensive agents are mostly uncertain and there is a higher risk of adverse events.
