The sensitive detection of harmful gases, in particular nitrogen dioxide, is very important for our health and environment protection. Therefore, many papers on sensor materials used for NO detection have been published in recent years. Materials based on graphene and reduced graphene oxide deserve special attention, as they exhibit excellent sensor properties compared to the other materials. In this paper, we present the most recent advances in rGO hybrid materials developed for NO detection. We discuss their properties and, in particular, the mechanism of their interaction with NO. We also present current problems occuring in this field.

Synergistic effect of scattered rare metals on Pt/CeO for propane oxidative dehydrogenation with CO.

The oxidative dehydrogenation of propane with CO (CO-ODP) is a green industrial process for producing propene. Cerium oxide-supported platinum-based (Pt/CeO) catalysts exhibit remarkable reactivity toward propane and CO due to the unique delicate balance of C-H and C[double bond, length as m-dash]O bond activation. However, the simultaneous activation and cleavage of C-H, C-C, and C-O bonds on Pt/CeO-based catalysts may substantially impede the selective activation of C-H bonds during the CO-ODP process.

In the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) synthesis of graphene, the surficial chemical state of the metal substrate has exerted key roles in all elemental reaction steps determining the growth mechanism of graphene. Herein, a CO-participated annealing procedure is designed to construct catalytic CuO/Cu sites on Cu foil for the graphene CVD synthesis with CO/CH as carbon sources. These CuO/Cu species can catalyze the CH decomposition and subsequent C─C coupling to form C intermediates for fast growth of monolayer hexagonal graphene domains with a diameter of ≈30 µm within 0.

The Proximal Protonation Source in Cu-NHx-C Single Atom Catalysts Selectively Boosts CO2 to Methane Electroreduction.

Regulating the coordination environment of active sites has proved powerful for tapping into their catalytic activity and selectivity in homogeneous catalysis, yet the heterogeneous nature of copper single-atom catalysts (SACs) makes it challenging. This work reports a bottom-up approach to construct a SAC (rGO@Cu-N(Hx)-C) by inlaying preformed amine coordinated Cu2+ units into reduced graphene oxide (rGO), permitting molecular level revelation on how the proximal N-site functional groups (N-H or N-CH3) impact on the carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR). It is demonstrated that the N-H moiety of rGO@Cu-NHx-C can serve as an in-situ protonation agent to accelerate the CO2-to-methane reduction kinetics, delivering a methane current density (163 mA/cm2) 2.

ConspectusLithium-ion batteries (LIBs) based on graphite anodes are a widely used state-of-the-art battery technology, but their energy density is approaching theoretical limits, prompting interest in lithium-metal batteries (LMBs) that can achieve higher energy density. In addition, the limited availability of lithium reserves raises supply concerns; therefore, research on postlithium metal batteries is underway. A major issue with these metal anodes, including lithium, is dendritic formation and insufficient reversibility, which leads to safety risks due to short circuits and the use of flammable electrolytes.
