It is a significant challenge to construct chiral metal-organic frameworks (CMOFs) by developing a facile and green preparation strategy. In this work, CMOFs were first synthesized via a mechanochemical process by combining a truncated mixed ligand strategy and defect engineering theory. The simple, green, and rapid construction strategy could solvent-freely harvest gram-scale CMOFs with a hierarchical micro/mesoporous structure. The as-synthesized CMOFs were evaluated by Aldol asymmetric catalysis and exhibited excellent catalytic performance (conversion was up to 97.1%, the ee value was 44.3%, and the activity was still good after 5 cycles).

Chiral metal organic cage compounds with excellent circularly polarized luminescent performance have broad application prospects in many fields. Herein, two lanthanide complexes with luminescent properties in the form of racemic hexagonal octahedral cages were synthesized using a tri (β-diketone) ligand. Eu6(C21H6F15O6)8(H2O)6 exhibited red light emission with high quantum yields of 61%.

Ionic liquid (IL) units in heterogeneous catalysts exhibit synergistic effects to enhance catalytic performance and stabilize catalytically active centers, while also preventing the degradation of catalysts during the reaction process. Ionic liquid units in IL-functionalized CMOF catalysts enhance their catalytic performance in a synergistic manner. However, not only are the yields of IL-functionalized CMOFs obtained with post-synthesis methods low, but they also lead to blocking of the MOF pores and leaching of the ionic liquid.

Metal-organic gels (MOGs) are a type of supramolecular complex that have become highly intriguing due to their synergistic combination of inorganic and organic elements. We report the synthesis and characterization of a Ni-directed supramolecular gel using chiral amino acid L-DOPA (3,4-dihydroxy phenylalanine) containing ligand, which coordinates with Ni(II) to form metal-organic gels with exceptional properties. The functional Ni(II)-gel was synthesized by heating nickel(II) acetate hexahydrate and the L-DOPA containing ligand in DMSO at 70 °C.

Asymmetric catalysis is essential for addressing the increasing demand for enantiopure compounds. Recent advances in reticular chemistry have demonstrated that metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) possess highly regular porous architectures, exceptional tunability, and the ability to incorporate chiral functionalities through their open channels or cavities. These characteristics make them highly effective and enantioselective catalysts for a wide range of asymmetric transformations.

Green and efficient total antioxidant capacity (TAC) detection is significant for healthy diet and disease prevention. This work first proposed the concept of TAC colorimetric detection based on microrobots. A novel metal-organic framework (MOF)-based biomimetic enzyme microrobot (MIL-88A@FeO) is developed that can efficiently and accurately detect the TAC of real fruits and vegetables.
