Objectives/hypothesis: To document the history of hearing seeing in children and adults.

Study Design: A literature search in all languages was carried out with the terms of hearing screening from the following sources: Pub Med, Science Direct, World Catalog, Index Medicus, Google scholar, Google Books, National Library of Medicine, Welcome historical library and The Library of Congress.

Methods: The primary sources consisting of books, scientific reports, public documents, governmental reports, and other written material were analyzed to document the history of hearing screening.

Background: Traumatic airway injuries often require improvising solutions to altered anatomy under strict time constraints. We describe here the use of two endotracheal tubes simultaneously in the trachea to facilitate securing an airway which has been severely compromised by a self-inflicted wound to the trachea. : A 71-year-old male presented with a self-inflicted incision to his neck, cutting deep into the trachea itself.

Background/objectives: Endoscopic surgery has a distinct disadvantage compared to direct vision: loss of binocular vision. Three-dimensional endoscopy has been welcomed due to the promise of improving stereopsis.

Methods: Prospective randomized study of junior doctors with minimal endoscopic experience, using both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, zero-degree, 4-mm Storz endoscopes.

Objectives/hypothesis: To evaluate the efficacy of vocal fold (VF) augmentation with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in the surgically pretreated larynx with glottal insufficiency.

Study Design: Prospective clinical pilot study.

Methods: After several prior reconstructive attempts (following tumor resection, VF paralysis, in sulcus vocalis, and VF scarring), CaHA was injected under general anaesthesia using a transoral microlaryngoscopic approach in 10 patients with residual glottal insufficiency ≤1.
