Purpose To assess the prognostic implications of cardiac MRI-derived imaging markers in individuals with severe aortic stenosis (AS). Materials and Methods This prospective study (German Clinical Trials Register, DRKS00024479) enrolled individuals with severe AS who underwent cardiac MRI before transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) from January 2017 to March 2022. Image analyses included myocardial volumes, cardiac MRI feature tracking-derived left atrial (LA) and right atrial (RA) as well as left ventricular (LV) and right ventricular (RV) strain, myocardial T1 mapping, and late gadolinium enhancement analyses.

Background: Early-life education quality has been associated with dementia risk and late-life cognitive functioning. However, the association between education quality and neuroimaging outcomes remains unclear.
Methods: These analyses utilized data from 450 participants in two harmonized cohorts of racially and ethnically diverse adults aged 50 years and older (KHANDLE and STAR) who completed brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging and whose self-reported school location at 9 grade could be linked to historical educational quality data from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Aims: As patients experience longer survival on HeartMate 3 left ventricular assist devices, there is a need to characterize long-term risks of adverse outcomes more precisely. This study characterized temporal variations in risks of mortality and adverse outcomes in patients with a HeartMate 3.
Methods And Results: From October 2015 to January 2023, 431 HeartMate 3 devices were implanted at Cleveland Clinic.
Background: Prior research suggests that early retirement is associated with cognitive decline, but mechanisms are unknown. We investigated whether retirement is associated with MRI biomarkers of neurodegeneration and vascular injury in two diverse cohorts of adults ages 65+.
Methods: The Kaiser Healthy Aging and Diverse Life Experiences and the Study of Healthy Aging in African Americans are harmonized longitudinal cohorts of racially/ethnically diverse adults who are long-term Kaiser Permanente Northern California members.
