The study describes the synthesis and structural attributes of two new cadmium phosphites, [Cd{OP(O)(OH)H}(4,4'-bipy)] () and [Hpip][Cd(HPO)(HO)]·HO (). The structure of adopts a two-dimensional motif featuring alternate [Cd-μ-O] and [Cd-O-P-O]-cyclic rings, while the inorganic chains are held together by 4,4'-bipyridine. The presence of strong hydrogen bonding interactions between the appended HPO groups (O---O = 2.55 Å) provides a facile proton conduction pathway and results in a proton conductivity of 3.2 × 10 S cm at 75 °C under 77% relative humidity (RH). Compound comprises an anionic framework formed by vertex-shared [Cd-O-P-O]-cyclic rings, while the [Hpip] cations between the adjacent chains assist a well-directed O-H---O hydrogen-bonded network between coordinated water, lattice water, and phospite groups. The bulk proton conductivity value under conditions as in reaches 4.3 × 10 S cm. For both and , the proton conductivity remains practically unchanged under ambient temperatures (25-35 °C), suggesting their potential in low-temperature fuel cells.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is frequently used to monitor disease progression in multiple sclerosis (MS). This study aims to systematically evaluate the correlation between MRI measures and histopathological changes, including demyelination, axonal loss, and gliosis, in the central nervous system of MS patients. We systematically reviewed post-mortem histological studies evaluating myelin density, axonal loss, and gliosis using quantitative imaging in MS.

Aminophosphates are the focus of research on prebiotic phosphorylation chemistry. Their bifunctional nature also makes them a powerful class of organocatalysts. However, the structural chemistry and dynamics of proton-binding in phosphorylation and organocatalytic mechanisms are still not fully understood.

[FeFe] hydrogenases make up a structurally diverse family of metalloenzymes that catalyze proton/dihydrogen interconversion. They can be classified into phylogenetically distinct groups denoted A-G, which differ in structure and reactivity. Prototypical Group A hydrogenases have high turnover rates and remarkable energy efficiency.

Phosphorus (P) deficiency is a critical factor limiting crop productivity, primarily due to its detrimental effects on photosynthesis and dry matter accumulation. In this study, we investigate the role of the rice gene OsPHT2;1 in mediating chloroplast P homeostasis and its subsequent impact on photosynthetic function under low P conditions. Stomatal conductance is typically positively correlated with net photosynthetic rates; however, P deficiency disrupts this relationship, leading to reduced stomatal opening and diminished photosynthetic efficiency.

Unlabelled: Proton exchange is a fundamental chemical event, and NMR provides the most direct readout of protonation events with site-specific resolution. Conventional approaches require manual titration of sample pH to collect a series of NMR spectra at different pH values. This requires extensive sample handling and often results in significant sample loss, leading to reduced signal or the need to prepare additional samples.
