The redetermined structure of 2-(2-hy-droxy-phen-yl)-1,3-bis-(4-meth-oxy-benz-yl)-1,3-diazinan-5-ol, CHNO, at 173 K has ortho-rhom-bic () symmetry. It was previously described by Bolte [ Private Communication (refcode EWICEV). CCDC, Cambridge, England]. The title compound resulted from the condensation reaction between 1,3-bis-{[(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)meth-yl]amino}-propan-2-ol and 2-hy-droxy-benzaldehyde in CHOH. The structure exhibits disorder. One of the 4-meth-oxy-benzyl groups, the hy-droxy group bonded to the 1,3-diazinan ring, and the methyl group of the meth-oxy residue are disordered over two orientations, with occupancies of 0.807 (3)/0.193 (3), 0.642 (5)/0.358 (5), and 0.82 (4)/0.18 (4), respectively. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the central 1,3-diazinan-5-ol and the 4-meth-oxy-phenyl rings (both occupancy components of the disordered ring) are 88.65 (13), 85.79 (14) and 83.4 (7)°. The crystal packing is sustained by C-H⋯O and O-H⋯π inter-actions, giving rise to infinite chains running along the axis direction.

Hydrogen-substituted graphdiyne (HsGDY) is a two-dimensional material with an sp-sp carbon skeleton featuring a band gap and a porous structure that enhances ion diffusion. In previous reports, HsGDY growth was limited to metal substrates such as Cu, which then required transfer. Here, we developed a sandwich method that allows HsGDY to be grown directly on the target substrate.

A Dual-Pathway Responsive Mechanophore for Intelligent Luminescent Polymer Materials.

Stoddart Institute of Molecular Science, Department of Chemistry, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310058, PR China.

Mechanoluminescent units, when integrated into polymer matrices, undergo structural transformations in response to mechanical force, resulting in changes in fluorescence. This phenomenon holds considerable promise for the development of stress-sensing materials. Despite the high demand for robust, tunable mechanoluminescent mechanophores for force assessment and smart force-responsive materials, strategies for their design and synthesis remain underdeveloped.

CdZnTe (CZT) has garnered substantial attention due to its outstanding performance in room-temperature semiconductor radiation detectors, where carrier transport properties are critical for assessing the detector performance. However, due to the complexities of crystal growth, CZT is prone to defects that affect carrier lifetime and mobility. To investigate how defects affect nonequilibrium carrier transport, nonadiabatic molecular dynamics (NAMD) is employed to examine six types of intrinsic defects and their impact on electron-hole (e-h) recombination.

Background: Missed clinic appointments disproportionately affect Medicaid-insured patients and residents of socioeconomically deprived neighborhoods. The role of the recent telemedicine expansion in reducing these disparities is unclear. We analyzed the relationship between census tract (CT) poverty level, residential segregation, missed appointments, and the role of telemedicine.

Purpose: Our study aim was to understand the (human and organizational) factors influencing fall risk among people with hematological malignancies using the Reason model as a framework, providing insights that can inform the development of safe and effective fall management strategies.

Methods: Purposive sampling was employed to conduct semi-structured interviews with 13 people with hematological malignancies and 12 nurses from the hematology department of a tertiary grade A hospital in Guangzhou from December 2023 to February 2024. The topic analysis method was utilized to analyze the interview data.
