Objectives: Parental burnout is a prevalent condition that affects parents' functioning and health. While various protective factors have been examined, little is known about their interplay. In the current study, we examined the joint effect of two protective factors against parental burnout (one external-social support and one internal-cognitive reappraisal). We were specifically interested in whether the presence of one factor could compensate for the lack of the other.
Methods: To address this question, 1835 participants were drawn from five countries: United States, Poland, Peru, Turkey and Belgium.
Results: Results suggested that both social support and cognitive reappraisal were associated with lower parental burnout. An interaction was also found between the resource factors, such that the presence of cognitive reappraisal compensated for the absence of social support.
Conclusions: These findings point to ways in which parental burnout could be reduced, especially in situations where social support is not easily available.

Introduction: Although parenting is a worthwhile and joyful process, it can also cause stress, potentially leading to parental burnout. With the implementation of the three-child policy in China, more parenting hours and higher economic costs may increase the risk of parental burnout.
Objectives: This study investigated how was maternal parenting stress related to mothers' parental burnout, as well as the potential mediating effect of their marital satisfaction and the moderating effect of their socioeconomic status on this relationship.

During emergencies like wartime, parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) face heightened challenges, potentially leading to Parental Burnout (PB). Wartime conditions can exacerbate children's behavioral difficulties, contributing to PB. Protective factors such as successful Emotional Regulation (ER) and perceived social support may mitigate PB.

Parental burnout (PB) has adverse effects on parents and children. The aim of the present study was to develop a multilingual version of the Brief Parental Burnout Scale (BPBS) adapted to the Swiss context in order to (1) provide practitioners working with families in different language regions of Switzerland with a screening tool, and (2) to estimate initial prevalence rates for risk of PB. Overall, results indicate, that the Trilingual Swiss BPBS (3-L-BPBS) is a promising screening tool, allowing for early detection of parents at risk and therefore for the prevention of negative consequences of PB.

Background: Overcrowding in paediatric emergency departments (PEDs) has become a global public health issue, reducing healthcare quality, increasing dissatisfaction, and driving up costs. Overcrowding in PEDs not only affects patient satisfaction and healthcare costs but also can lead to burnout among healthcare professionals. This burnout could potentially result in suboptimal care for truly severe cases, ultimately increasing morbidity and mortality rates among patients requiring urgent attention.
