Ritlecitinib is an oral Janus kinase 3/tyrosine kinase expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (JAK3/TEC) family kinase inhibitor approved for the treatment of severe alopecia areata (AA). Benefit-risk profiles of two doses of ritlecitinib (50 mg vs 30 mg once daily) were evaluated by integrating patient preferences and clinical efficacy and safety estimates for ritlecitinib. A discrete-choice experiment (DCE) was utilized to elicit preferences for benefit and safety attributes of systemic AA treatments.

Objective: This study examined the lived employment experiences of young adults with childhood and adult-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Methods: Participants were recruited from three Canadian lupus clinics and asked to complete, semi-structured, qualitative video/phone interviews. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using thematic analysis.

Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are preferred for stroke prevention in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF); however, warfarin is still used. This study examined why physicians may choose warfarin over DOACs and the associated safety outcomes in patients with NVAF.
Methods: We conducted a new-user, active-comparator cohort study in newly diagnosed patients with NVAF to assess safety outcomes after the introduction of DOACs in Japan.

Objective: Recent research has explored frailty in systemic lupus erythematosus using multiple measures. We examined the agreement among frailty measures and the association of each with cross-sectional and longitudinal health outcomes.
Methods: We used data from the California Lupus Epidemiology Study to examine the following measures of frailty: Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) Frailty Index (SLICC-FI), Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB), and Fatigue, Resistance, Ambulation, Illness, and Loss of Weight (FRAIL) scale questionnaire.
