This mini-review examines the available papers about virtual reality (VR) as a tool for the diagnosis or therapy of neurodevelopmental disorders, focusing on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD). Through a search on literature, we selected 62 studies published between 1998 and 2024. After exclusion criteria, our synoptic table includes 32 studies on ADHD (17 were on diagnostic evaluation and 15 were on therapeutic interventions), 2 on pure ASD, and 2 on pure SLD.

Holography is capable of rendering three-dimensional scenes with full-depth control and delivering transformative experiences across numerous domains, including virtual and augmented reality, education, and communication. However, traditional holography presents 3D scenes with unnatural defocus and severe speckles due to the limited space bandwidth product of the spatial light modulator (SLM). Here, we introduce Motion Hologram, a holographic technique that accurately portrays photorealistic and speckle-free 3D scenes.

In this single-center, triple-arm pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT), 61 postsurgical patients with a postoperative pain numerical rating scale (NRS) score ≥4 after receiving standard analgesia were included and assigned to either a quantum clinics-VR (QTC-VR) group, a Placebo-VR group, or a control group. The QTC-VR group engaged in a daily 10-minute interactive pain relief 3D-VR program, while the Placebo-VR group watched a daily 10-minute relaxation-based 2D film through VR headsets for three days following surgery.

Purpose: Virtual reality-based interventions (VRBI) are a gamified approach to therapy that can improve balance and motor skills in children diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). The aim was to investigate the effectiveness of VRBI in improving balance and motor skills in children with DCD.
Methods: According to PRISMA guidelines, meta-analyses were conducted by searching randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effect of VRBI on balance and motor skills in children with DCD.
Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most important emerging technologies that supports Metaverse integrating process, by enabling smooth data transfer among physical and virtual domains. Integrating sensor devices, wearables, and smart gadgets into Metaverse environment enables IoT to deepen interactions and enhance immersion, both crucial for a completely integrated, data-driven Metaverse. Nevertheless, because IoT devices are often built with minimal hardware and are connected to the Internet, they are highly susceptible to different types of cyberattacks, presenting a significant security problem for maintaining a secure infrastructure.
