Background: The optimal dose of galcanezumab for patients with migraine remains uncertain. Therefore, we conducted a network meta-analysis to assess the comparative effectiveness of various doses of galcanezumab for this group of patients.
Methods: A systematically search was implemented in several databases including the PubMed, Ovid MEDILNE, Ovid EMBASE and Cochrane Library from inception of the databases until 31 August 2020. Only randomized clinical trials of adults with migraine that assessed galcanezumab therapy and reported clinical outcomes were included. The primary efficacy outcome was monthly change in migraine headache days (MHDs). The primary safety outcome was treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs).
Results: Overall, eight randomized clinical trials included 4,720 patients, were assessed in our systematic review. In terms of efficacy, galcanezumab 120 and 240 mg significantly reduced monthly MHDs (MD -2.02, 95% CrI -2.62 to -1.42; MD -2.06, 95% CrI -2.74 to -1.36, respectively) compared to the placebo. In terms of safety, galcanezumab 120, 150 mg and 240 mg significantly increased incidences of adverse events (RR 1.11, 95% CrI 1.03-1.20; RR 1.85, 95% CrI 1.27-2.81; RR 1.15, 95% CrI 1.06-1.24, respectively).
Conclusions: Galcanezumab 240 mg offers the first level in terms of efficacy outcomes and galcanezumab 150 mg ranks the first level in terms of increasing treatment-emergent adverse events among adult patients with migraine. Attention should be devoted to the potential risk of adverse events, especially for injection site pain when the drug is administered subcutaneously.

Introduction: What interventions effectively prevent postoperative stenosis following endoscopic resection (ER) of superficial esophageal cancer? This study aimed to identify effective interventions or combinations through a systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Methods: Six databases were systematically searched for eligible studies up to 30 April 2023, on interventions to prevent esophageal stenosis post-ER. Odds ratios (ORs) evaluated stenosis rate (primary outcome) and complications (secondary outcome), while mean differences (MD) evaluated endoscopic balloon dilatation (EBD) sessions post-stenosis.

Background: Bilirubin has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer properties, with an inverse relationship between its levels and cancer risk and prognosis. However, the prognostic value of serum bilirubin in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains uncertain.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed pretreatment serum total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL), and indirect bilirubin (IBIL) in 284 AML patients and 316 healthy controls.
The generation time, representing the interval between infections in primary and secondary cases, is essential for understanding and predicting the transmission dynamics of seasonal influenza, including the real-time effective reproduction number (Rt). However, comprehensive generation time estimates for seasonal influenza, especially since the 2009 influenza pandemic, are lacking. We estimated the generation time utilizing data from a 7-site case-ascertained household study in the United States over two influenza seasons, 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.

Introduction: Heavy metal exposure has been associated with poor sleep, but little is known about the cumulative associations of multiple metals with sleep duration, particularly among adolescents. This study examined the association of blood lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and mercury (Hg) concentrations with sleep duration and possible effect modification by vitamin D.
Methods: The study sample consisted of 16-25-year-olds (n = 2637) from the 2011-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

: We conducted a systematic review and network meta-analysis to evaluate and compare the perioperative, functional, and oncological outcomes of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) with open radical prostatectomy (ORP) in patients with prostate cancer. A comprehensive literature search was performed in Pubmed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane library for papers published before May 2021. Only studies of patients with prostate cancer that assessed perioperative, functional, and oncological outcomes and reported outcome values were included.
